Legal Advice needed
Legal Advice needed
Life sucks so my license is being revoked for a year b/c I was speeding 110 in a 65 dame I fu*ked up I asked a lawyer and he said I was screwed and dame I did all I can do. I have a hearing on what I can say for them to not take my license any great advice is needed my excuse would be school, work, and church. AZ members or any lawyers on this forum please any opinions on how I can change this.
I’m not a lawyer but being that I have LOTS OF EXPERIENCE IN THIS SITUATION, the best bet for you is (depending on your prior record vs. 1st, 2nd and so on offence) get a lawyer to represent you in court and lower the fine to a lesser charge, or you can risk it and go on your own, talk to the prosecutor before in front of a judge and negotiate a plea bargain to a lesser charge = big fine and maybe not that much of a suspension.
Ahhhh crap thats where i messed up it was a 2hour drive and my friend told me to not go so being a naive lil stupid boy i didnt go and then they sent home a letter that i have to pay the fine or ill get cuffed or license suspended so i payed then i got another letter from the DMV saying youre screwed and your license is suspended and all i can do is hearing
Option #2 don't know how NC MV does it but here in Jersey, if you read your notice carefully, it gives you a chance to request a hearing together with a letter stating on the reasons why you shouldn't be suspended, with the MV of your state. Better be a good excuse, if not, look at it this way, you will be saving miles on your car = higher value = more money in your pocket. Public trans in the NY/NJ area is what I did when that happend to me many years ago.
AHHHH i live in NC the only trans is the city bus and that takes forever plus i might still drive if they take my license away i heard i could make a copy of my license and keep it just in case of police check points man i really need a good excuse then go ahead and just shove a foot up my ass
you should have shit in your pants when the officer asked you why you were driving so fast. i would def. do that to get out of that mess. even though, i would have another mess in my pants to deal with a little later.

I think you guys are missing the point. He already paid the fine, basically indicating guilt. Check this site for options. Man NC doesn't fuck around.

Suspensions & Revocations
In addition to criminal penalties that the court might mandate, conviction of certain traffic offenses will result in the loss of your driving privilege.
Your driving privilege will be revoked for at least 30 days if you are convicted of:
- Driving any vehicle more than 15 mph over the speed limit, if you are driving at a speed higher than 55 mph.
Your driving privilege will be taken for 60 days if you are convicted of:
- a second charge of speeding over 55 mph and more than 15 mph above the speed limit within one year; or speeding plus reckless driving on the same occasion.
The DMV can also suspend your license for the following:
- Two convictions of speeding over 55 mph during the same year;
- One conviction of speeding over 55 mph and one conviction of reckless driving within a year;
- A conviction of willful racing with another motor vehicle, whether it is pre-arranged or unplanned.
- A suspended court sentence or part of a sentence mandating that you must not operate a motor vehicle for a specified period of time; and/or
- A conviction for speeding over 75 mph.
In cases like the above, the DMV may suspend your driving privilege as soon as it receives the conviction report from the court. If your driving privilege is revoked, you may have the right to a hearing in the judicial district where you reside. To request a hearing, call or write to the DMV in Raleigh. You will be notified by mail of the time and place for the hearing. At the hearing you may state any facts that you think should entitle you to driving privileges or to a reduction of the suspension period.
If you believe your driving privilege should not have been taken and the hearing gives you no help, you may appeal the DMV's decision within thirty (30) days to the Superior Court of the county where you live. The court will review your case to see if there were proper grounds for taking your driving privilege.

Im in NC and a couple years back i got a 102 in a 45 and got off with no license suspension. All i did was went to court and kissed the judges ass and acted like a was a fine upstanding college student preparing to contribute to society. didnt get a lawyer or anything just paid $200 something in fines and got 3 or 4 points on my license. you on the otherhand are dumb as hell for not going to court and even dumber for sending in the money for the ticket, you basically admitted your guilty by doing that. If you hadnt i would say you could get a PJC and be done with it, but you dont have that option any more, i dont think your gonna be driving for a while, sorry.
NSXNEXT is right NC does not play around shit so what can i say at my hearing and what should i bring i really need my license to go to and work adn stuff mannnnnnnnNNNNNNN i am FU*Ked
I'm in pretty deep too....
I got pulled by a NJ State Trooper doing 95-65 (Paced not clocked by radar or laser) and he gave me tickets for tailgaiting and Improper Passing (Passing on Right). Hopefully it doesn't affect my CT license.

110mph in a 65mph zone? hmmmm.. what time of day was it? 2 in the morn??? if it were really late at nite with no one on the freeway you can probably use that to ur advantage.. say something like this:
Well your honor... it was 2 in the morn and no one was on teh freeway.. if anyone were to get hurt it would have been just me.... i know that its no excuse to ever be driving that fast at any time of day but i am truely sorry and will never do that again.
then tell him that they shouldnt make cars go that fast if you dont want us to drive at those speeds!! juss kiddin... dont tell him that shit... he'll bitch slap you and take your lic. for sure!

I think he mentioned "re-opening" the case, so I think he paid the fine already.
Also, every single cop I have ever spoken to have said that if you don't get a lawyer, for a speeding ticket, you're an idiot. And I teach cops, so I speak to a lot of them.
Lying may get you out of a ticket as soon as you get pulled over but unless you are a 6 ft blonde with big tits....if you wait til you get to court to lie, you're wasting your time.
OK let me clear this up my friend asked me to take him to get his 97 M3 in another state I think Charleston SC. It was a 2-3hr drive so after we got his car we went home M3(stick) very fast we drove home hitting at least 100-135 the whole way thats when I got caught. Ok then I had the ticket I did not appear in court so missed court date week or two later letter came home it says if you do not pay the fine you WILL get a warrent for arrest and contact to DMV to to revoke license. I pay.... a month later the DMV suspending license now I will be going to a hearing in a week or so all I can do is hit them with the work my freind that I recently talked to said that thats my best solution and they will probably help me out he had a DWI blew .08 and has a curfew. NOW I just bought me a V1 detector so I'm ready for them cops!!!!!
texas loves speeders. i've had more tickets than i can count and my insurance only went up 20 bucks a month. as long as you keep padding the states pockets with money they love you. 100 in a 60 - $290 dollars. that's it. of course i haven't gotten a ticket in 2-3 years but that's all thanks to mr. escort 8500.
I have never used a laywer when going to court and I got the same results as people who used one.
The key is to be honest/polite with the Judge and Prosecuter. More often than not they are MORE THAN WILLING to cut you a break. Be an ass and it's game over
