Leather Care

What products do you guys use to condition your leather? I'm looking for something that works well, doesn't create any kind of shine, and doesn't spell too bad. Thanks for your time.

I use Lexol leather cleaner to clean the leather, and Lexol leather conditioner to condition it afterwards for protection. You can get it at any pep boys.

You should also look into Lexol Vinylex to clean your vinyl surfaces. I use it and it works great. Doesn't leave too much of a glossy finish afterwards. I even used it to wipe down my rubber floor mats

I use meguair's gold class too. it's okay. Doesn't really seem to last very long. I can't find Lexol anywhere, but I'm gonna try that when my meguair's runs out.

I used Lexon cleaner and conditioner. Two bottles. I didn't follow the instructions for the conditioner and only left it on for a min or two, and it looks fine. I might reapply the conditioner this weekend.

Hey try any tack shop. My mom rides horses and she picks it up for me all the time.

I'm using Zaino's "Leather in a Bottle". The nice thing about it is that it's so full of leather oils, that it makes the car smell brand new again (or at least like a new leather jacket is tucked in the back). I've heard good things about the Lexol products also.

Am I using Lexol wrong? Whenever I put it on the doors and it rains, it makes rain/water marks like running paint...anyone else have this problem?

That isn't a problem jeremy. That shows that the LEXOL is on the surface doing its job. It would be a problem if the water wasn't washing anything away. That would be indicative of no protection!

I too use the Meguire's, and also KIWI. Both work very well but the Meguier's is better IMO.

I use Meguiars as well, but I don't use the Gold Class, I use their Medallion series (you'll have to special order that stuff), it's kinda spendy but it's worth it, great product IMHO. Massage it into the leather, rub off excess, and you'll like how it doesn't leave a film behind.... Really impressive product that even has UV protection that Lexol doesn't, that's why I went with Meguiars.

So you have to reapply every time it runs off from the rain? That sucks...

I use Pinnacle Leather Conditioner & their Cleaner. I like it. Can't say I could compare it with other products, but it works great for me. It has a citrus smell.

You are applying lexol wrong if it streaks when wet. You should apply a small amount to a rag, then work it into the leather. Once done, the leather will feel soft, but not oily at all. If you rub your fingers over it, it will be smooth but no oil on you. You want the product to be fully absorbed.
