Last minute doubts on Axis Muse...

I am about to order the Axis Muse 19's, but I saw some pictures
of them on CL and started thinking that they look too big, or maybe it's just my imagination. Do you guys think that Axis 19's are too big for the CL and I should stick with 18's???

As long as your roads are relatively smooth and you don't really have to worry about snow that often.. you should be alright..

But if you get 19" you have to lower it otherwise it will look retarded..

CLUofI, they look like this:

Much like the Advan Model 5 wheels..

Well, I stayed with 17" wheels and 225-45/17 tires, so I am obviously not in a position to comment first-hand about 19" wheels. But of course I have an opinion...

Another factor to consider in the decision to go 18" or 19" depends on whether or not having the tires rub even the slightest bothers you. Is there truly ANY CL owner on this board with 19" wheels AND that is lowered that is NOT rubbing..at all...under any circumstances? It seems that many people lowered and with oversize wheels & tires (18" as well as 19") proclaim no rubbing on the first inquiry. Then under more specific questioning, confess that rubbing occurs under cornering, only with their systems in, with passengers, over speed bumps, etc. These certainly sound like everyday driving situations to me.

Of course rub/no rub has as more to do with proper offset and aspect ratio matching wheel size than wheel size alone. And you certainly have to pay more attention to fitment issues if your car is lowered than you do if it isn't.

For my hard-earned money, (and given what we're spending on aftermarket tires and wheels), any rubbing is unacceptable. I don't want to compromise my driving experience and style for the sake of looks while I chew up my tires and hear that gawd-awful rubbing sound from the wheel wells.

yes....i have 19's lowered about 2.5" and have NEVER EVER rubbed under any circumstance with 3 passengers in the car along with myself. NEVER rubbed making any type of turn or going over any bump......EVER

Well, so there is someone!

Tell me more: what is your wheel manufacturer, model, size, and offset? Did you have to roll your fenders or trim the wheel well plastic?

Thx

They are Dazz Matiz...19x8....+48offset...225/35/19 Toyo FZ4 Proxies.

no rolling or trimming of the fenders whatsoever. simply lowered it and slapped on the rims.

19" Axis Muse look big because the spokes go all the way to tires. Did you order them yet, because I'm selling mine.

I met a guy in NY today with a copper colored CL-S on 19" Xenex Muses, the car was lowered and the rims look damn pimp..too big for spirited driving but damn they look nice..anyway he hates the ride, hates the tramlining and one of the wheels has a small crack from a pothole incident. He welded it back together and drives around with it on the back..he said he would throw the 17"s back on but they look too small for his taste as well as 18"s
