K&N drop-in compared to stock filter (pics)

Finally getting around to posting some pics I took of the K&N drop-in filter I installed a couple weeks ago. Up against the light, the difference is obvious. The K&N is definitely more free flowing than stock and properly oiled, probably very close in filtering capability. The lower shot shows the large difference in thickness between the two. For reference, the part # for the CL-S is 33-2178 and for the CL is 33-2133.

Really? The change in PhotoPoint is the reason I haven't posted these pics earlier. They display here for me...

Does the link below work?

K&N rules. You can visible see that it would
flow more air. It also doesn't have that split which may cause more turbulence!
Congrats on your purchase!

I thought somebody would notice that! lol You already beat me to the punchline though. No, a friend took the pic while I held the filters.

Yeah, any type of K&N (panel or cone type) is much better than stock...

I'm in Mesa, which is part of the overall Phoenix metro area. That'll be cool that you'll have your car out here. There are a few members here in Phoenix so we should all try to get together when you're here. You do know you'll be coming out here at the absolute peak of the heat and humidity, don't you? It only gets better from there though!

I honestly don't feel a difference with it but it probably does help a very small amount. G-tech times have improved slightly (but who believes those things anyway! lol)... I'd highly recommend it if for no other reason than it's washable and reusable. Some people have noticed a slight increase in MPG with it but I haven't yet. I need start wearing lighter weight shoes!

i have vacation scheduled at the end of august, so it may be in the beginning of september considering it's at least a 3-4 day drive from where i'm coming from.

i'm going to be right next to (or in?) flagstaff.

Oh, Flag... It'll be a lot cooler at least. It's a little over 2 hours north of Phoenix in the mountains. If you're into hiking, you'll love it. Mt. Humphreys is there and is the highest peak in AZ. You'll probably be the only CL in town but it is nice up there.
