This is just about the best bang for the $$$ for real world performance gains for an automatic. Just remember to change the transfluid at least every 10-12k now...I know the dragon torque converter they have for the gs4 dropped 0-60 times about .4-.6 seconds in te real world! (RMM claims some bogus .8-1.0) I am thinking about this, but Tires are very expensive LOL, and I want shocks and Springs...but then there is this new MP3 player, and these Dynaudio Speakers...and... well you know...how it goes, can't buy all the bell and whistles but want too. I don't have 3 Lexus or Porsches like some on this forum...I just have a Viper, 550 Maranello, McLauren F1, Ferrari F50, and a Jaguar xj220...but unfortunately all mine are 1/18 scale except my GS & Tacoma. :-)

He means are you getting a valve body upgrade, which will make the car shift firmer between gears. Kinda like just poppin the clutch on a manual vs. letting the clutch slip a little, between gears.

So this price of "498.00" includes a new one or not? I wonder how this will effect the long term lifetime on the engine and tranny? I am sure it fucks with the warranty.

well its new cuz i got a new one but what they do is change the stall speed and weld the turbine assemblies. here is what they do.The internal parts of the turbines are manufactured from formed sheet metal vanes and machined rings. In most "stock" quality torque converters, the assembly of these parts is primarily accomplished by interlocking mechanical means. In high quality, heavy-duty and high performance torque converters, the turbine assemblies are completely welded or furnace brazed together to provide for a stronger and more robust unit.

So what is going on with this? I am really interested in seeing what type of performance gains you get.

Wow I forgot how old this topic was.. but no I do not believe he gave us any updates.. I do not even remmebr seeing any posted timeslips save for the ones Doug (syncivic) had for the runs he had at Moroso with the abused Michelin pilots for sale.. I think his best run was like 14.2 or so.. but of course conditions were not ideal
