just got my comptech springs installed

picked 'em up late Saturday night from Nick and finally got those bad boys installed this morning at Discount Tires in El Monte for $150...that place is frickin far but it was worth the drive...

Holy crap. These springs rock!!! Best $300 invested ever!! I am making my stock tires scream all the time now because I am cornering and taking onramps/offramps like crazy now...

Plus the car looks a helluva lot better w/out the SUV wheelgap!

Will post pics tommorow....

I wouldn't worry about the HID's, but I would recommend an alignment if you haven't got one already. Also, I would make sure the alignment is still on in a month or so after everything settles into place. I never got an alignment, and I'm showing some wear in the inside front tires. Oh well.. just an excuse to get some new rubber to complete the handling setup.

do you have the stock shocks and tires? I am thinking of getting the comptech springs, but i dont want a bouncy ride, want it little lower with as close as smooth as stock ride. can you really corner that much better?

Stock shocks and tires here. Not really "bouncy" per say, but a hell of alot stiffer over rough pavement. Not at all like stock. Not bad mind you, but different. If I had it to do all over again, I would!!

I do see Tokico Illumina's in my near future, though.

Iridium130 - I'm thinking the same thing (adjust the HID's up a bit.) I definately can't see as far at night with the new stance (and headlamp disperssion position.) Anyone else on this!? It seems to light up the ground right in front of the car better now, though!

The $150 included the alignment....hey moo, weren't you trying to charge me $150 before too?

I'm also using stock shocks and tires. The ride isn't that *bouncy* but its a helluva lot firmer now. A definite improvement over stock. I can definetly take onramps and whatnot faster, but I dont think I can corner EXTREMELY fast, but I can corner faster than before.

I feel a lot more planted to the ground when I am driving around now, especially at high speeds. I was going 90 yesterday without even noticing it....

Well...uh, I was just price matching.....it would have benn $100 for the springs...and $30-40 for the alignment...so and I wouldn't have had some guy who didn't give a shit about your car working on it...
Did he put all the screws back in?? There are 4 for the rear seat...did he break off any grommets?? Probably didn't see him working on it huh!?!....Did he make sure the struts aligned correctly?? I bet not....so Phil....let me re-itierate.....you still paid too much..
