Jetta turbo VS. G35

it was the funniest race, i mean i was dieing, I was dead even with a G35, my jetta turbo is a 5 speed, i mean this guy was a maniac i wanted to give him a sting back!, so i droped my car to 3rd while we where going 65 my car just shot off turbo spooled up, the guy was floooooring it, middle lane was full of stupid cars and express lane and slow lane was open thats where i was i mean we where dead even, both cars where roaring i dropped to 4th to 5th still dead even turbo was all over that g35 when a moron came in from the road into my lane i had to brake g35 got big lead, i got off my exit went home, my wife kept saying that was amazing she cant belive the jetta was dead even with the g35 in mid and high engine revs.
me happpppy with my everyday car, hehehehe. check sig for car pics. anybody never drove one of these get the 5 speed you'll love it.

Not impressive? What the hell are you on? It's one of the best handling cars on the road for 35K, not too mention it does standing 1/4 mile runs in the low 14s and even some have broken into the high 13s STOCK.

Not impressive my ass.

No biggie.

Liking it is one thing... Saying it's not impressive is another.

Since when is a Jetta 1.8T able to keep up with a G35? That car is a low to mid 15 second car. I find it absolutely hard to believe he couldn't completely walk away from you. Sorry, I've driven a 1.8T 5spd A4 and it isn't even CLOSE to being as fast as my car.

If you really think he was flooring it, I call

It almost sounds as if Scrib owns a G or something.

unless you have the following mods at the bare minimum im calling bs

1. chip
2. underdrive pulleys (no way a 4 cylinder turbo motor is going to pull a 6 cylinder with 280hp)
3. turboback
3. A LARGER TURBO The stock KO3/KO3SPORT/Upgraded KO4 are so inefficient at high rpms its rediculous. Even when they are chipped you will spike 21 and then go back to 15.
4. Lightened flywheel/short shifter

Those are the bare minimums you would need to run a 14.1

How do i know?
I have a Jetta 1.8t and I have a turboback and chip and all the other bullshit and i can drive very very well and my best is a 14.3.

So either you bullshittin or the other guy cant drive for his life

We just don't see any validity in your claim, so we're questioning it.

And I still don't see how you could hang with a 260/280hp (depending on coupe or sedan) in a 1.8L small-turbo car at those speeds.

Especially when you can't even trap over 90mph in the 1/4 mile (stock)...

Sorry.

my jetta can i should have said i had a turboback and chip .. hehe

This setup yielded about 8 cars on a G35 Coupe 6 Speed and that one had an an upgraded exhaust. Keep in mind however this setup is pushing close to 350whp on 21 psi. This is what type of upgrade youd need to desimate a g35 coupe

Before with just my turboback and chip id lose by abouttwo cars

I think VW was thinking about somethign else really small when they made this turbo haha

Now for the good stuff

And the man behind the madness:

Hope you guys all enjoy my little project.

Like I said, a Jetta like that would obliterate me.

With that setup, I'd be messing around w/03 Cobra SVTs and Z06s, not G35 Coupes.
