I went to drop the car off at the dealer last night to have my jammed CD changer fixed. I was told they had to replace the whole radio! That sucks! I was also told they didn't know if they could open it up to get my 5 cd's that are still inside. It's the unit that's bad. It looks like it just froze up. There's no cd stuck in the slot.

Has anyones's CD changer done this????

When the guy tried to order the radio, the computer spit back a backorder. Some 900 units are are backorder! I was told it's a defective radio, & they have alot of them, & there on backorder so they can ship out tons of them at the same time. That's stupid!!! If true. So I left the car there, & they said they will have more info today. If I have to wait weeks, or months that will really stink! A $30K leased car that has no cd player! Wonder if I can get out of paying the lease payments untill it's fixed.

I remember something about someone unjamming the CD...

You have to stick a thin knife in and gently lift up on the CD. That will give it enough friction for the CD player to spit the out.

 

Tried that. Problem is there's no CD stuck in the slot. It's the mechinazim it's self. That's the part that froze up. I can see with a flashlight that there's nothing in the current cd slot.
