install my CT exhausts...got a striped nut

I installed the driver side muffler in 5 mins. As soon as I got to the passenger side, the friggin breaker bar strips the nut. So, now I have a mismatch of exhausts on my car now. I even notice a difference in the sound with just one CT muffler on.

So, what can do to get this stupid striped bolt of the muffler?

Use a dremel and cut the nut off. Or just bring it to any mechanic. They'll get it off for you.

Depends on what tools you have. I'm assuming you don't have an impact gun, so your best bet would probably be to get some form of stipped bolt remover. Go to sears and they should have bolt out or even irwin makes a similar item.

one problem I might run into is I have to run a long-ass extension cord to my car from my townhouse. Then I would have to buy goggles if any sparks kick off and get a carbide blade for my dremel.

What I thought about doing is using my vice grips or use my dremel with to sharpen the corners so my wrench can grip the nut. Those nuts are on there pretty tight.

I went to a mechanic today and he was going to charge me $90($45/muffler) to put them on. Needless to say, I didn't go with that.

some are, the one I went to was actually open on sundays. Repair wasn't for the muffler tho but for a stripped bolt on the cat. He hooked it up for $25 under the table

Wow, its a good thing it isn't

stripped

If you don't like the stripe, paint it or polish it.

I think what the comedians are laughing about is that "striped" spelled with one "p" means something that has stripes on it like a tiger. "stripped" should have 2 "p"s.

Don't cut it off. Get a good stripped bolt remover. Cutting the stud that holds the muffler will open up a whole new set of challanges.

When the exhausts are warmed up from prolonged driving, they are really loud.

Make sure you keep up on wiping them down with a wet rag after they cool off. The carbon builds up fast on these suckers.

thanks guys...I didn't know about the wiping them off...I'll go do that. It was a bitch to clean when I first bought them used. I had the Eagle One cleaner/polisher and it helped out tremendously.

I love the sound when I turn the car on. The droning can be overwhelming though when I'm not bumpin my tunes.
