I want a sleeper!!!

What are some good cars that would be sleepers??

This is all I can come up with off the top of my head:

1) Camry LE V6 5spd with the TRD S/C pkg
2) Hybrid Civic

what else????

Buick Regal GS....looks like it should do 0-60 in 10sec, but in reality does it in 6.5-6.6sec- there was a guy on the Mcoupe board (bimmer.org), whose wife had one and he did a few thing to it (had the car doing 0-60 in 6.3sec).

That would teach a few Mustangs a lesson.

my cousin's car.

2 door integra gs-r

fully built engine (crower rods, je pistons, etc, etc, etc.), and a giant t3/t04 turbonetic turbo. did i mention the car has stock rims on it? the only give-aways, the gaping intercooler, race exhaust, lowered, and if you look inside, all the gauges will make you go silly. oh, one more give-away, only to those of us that know performance, his license plate is "1barGSR" hahhahaha

GoldTypeS,

2002 V8 Ford Mustang with a Powerdyne (belt driven version)11lbs. supercharger. No one will be able to hear the whining of the gears because there are no gears in that particular supercharger. They will think it's just a stock Mustang. The car will be smog legal in 50 states and have 375 Horses with 375 torque to boot. All for probably about 30 G's. (car & blower)

You could install the supecharger yourself in about a day. No punching of the oil pan because it is a self contained oil unit. Add exhaust to the car and your likely to add another 15 to 20 horses. But then your not a sleeper anymore. Good Luck.

ford focus and dodge neons. You could drop a mit's turbo charged engine in the first gen. neon as the eclipse and noens shared the same platform...as well as the dodge/plymouth colts did too. Well, i guess we've all seen that drag focus

The Merkur XR4Ti. I remember reading in Turbo magazine a couple years back. They had installed the twin turbo engine from the 300ZX. Nobody would have a clue.

How would you like to hand an M5/Z8, Corvette, 911 Carrera, or XKR their ass in this. The look on the drivers face would be worth the 65K.

Like they say in the article. take off the wing, and the stickers. And add a bumper sticker that says "you just got beat by a Beetle, have a nice day"

It's a fun read. http://www.motortrend.com/june01/beetle/beetle_f.html

SICK!

The twin-turbo 2.8L V-6 powerplant is a tight fit in the Beetle's engine compartment. The only real hints to this car's true capabilities are the widened rear fenders necessary to accommodate the huge 255/35ZR18 Bridgestone tires and the Kersher carbon-fiber wing out back. ......according to HPA, an all-wheel-drive twin-turbo V-6 conversion can be performed on any current-model Beetle, Jetta, Golf/GTI, or Audi TT. .....And in case you suspect a TT driveline can't handle 500 horses, HPA has confirmed Audi AG's testing of it up to 800 hp without failure.
