I heard that Acura will generally fix the tranny under the warranty if it's within 10000 miles or so of the 50000 mile warranty. If the dealer won't do it, go over their head to the zone or regional office. But I think they will if you've done the proper maintenance. Good Luck and let us know!!!!

You are probably OK because it's a known fault. If your dealer doesn't just do the right thing, pursue it. I'd be surprised if the dealer or at least Honda didn't take care of you without much fuss.

Ironically, I'm about to email the Sharper Image for my 5th Ionic Breeze (air filtration). The first crapped out after a couple of weeks and the store gave me a new one. It crapped after a month and I was so frustrated that it was a year and a half (on a one year warranty) before I did anything about it, at which point I simply emailed them. It was a Saturday morning and I had an email back in 20 minutes--they sent out the newer more expensive model immediately. It crapped and they sent out another. And of course it crapped. I'd rather have something that worked for more that a few weeks before dying (shame, cuz they are great when they work), but this just shows that warranty period aren't written in stone.

Strange how that happens.... I've had the same Ionic Breeze for almost 2 years, always on and in a high dust area....never a problem.

Wow, freaky--my four (two of the older, two of the Quadra) all lasted from two weeks to a month or so, not a high dust area, treated 'em well... maybe there is hope... they work really well when they work...

At least their customer service is good. What made me finally email them after all that time initially was noticing in their catalog the that CEO gives his email address. Now, of course I knew he would have other people answering the email, but just that he put "richard@sharperimage.com" gave me the idea that maybe he takes customer service seriously. 20 minutes was a pretty good response time on a Saturday morning!
