Hey guys, I just got a 2001 Type S and I love it!!!
I keep hearing talk about cold air intake. How much of a difference is that going to make versus the stock? Is this a must have? Like I said I am a rookie and I don't know these things

 

I think it is a must have for the money.
The AEM is a tad less than $200.00 and the Comptech Icebox is about $250.00. I prefer the Icebox myself.

depends which intake ya get. Dinan is quiet as hell and not worth the sound. IMO

GruppeM sound ROCKS. I loved it.

I heard this upgrade gives you better gas mileage and also about +10 HP.

no damage to the engine whatsoever

it does give better mileage b/c of the better air/fuel mixture ratio (use less gas and more air)

you can get 10HP out of it

 

I'll sell you my Injen intake (used) I just took it off. I do miss it though but its time to turn the lease in

Just had my icebox installed 2 weeks ago. The butt-dyno confirms better low end and mid- range pickup. Actually dyno runs have been 10-15 hp and around 10 lbs-ft of tq. Not a bad mod for the money. Unfortunately, once you start modding.. trying to stop sucks...

 

my friend has the dinan and you cant even hear that thing, not to mention that you cant even feel the difference...
