and still do despite the controversy over the new models.
so on the topic of BMW, my friend got a black 02 M3 SMG a few months ago with 10k miles on it (i posted it a while ago in galleries, its the one with the black HRE's). this morning his engine blew. i knew there was a problem with the 01-02 engines where the spontaneously self destructed, but he was tellin me that a bearing in the second cylinder crapped out and shot the engine to hell. straight from him - "BMW wants to keep it on the DL so im getting a "new and improved" engine free"
he races it at sebring alot, seems like every weekend. would that void his warranty? and is this the same problem thats been seen in so many other M3's?

im not sure what his lap times are but ive seen video taken from inside his car. he's got a camera on the dash toward the road and one focused on the speedo. coming down a straight going 130 he headed into at turn, downshifted too far, over compensated and spun out goin 110. watching the video is rediculous, the needle is on 110 one second then drops immediatly to 30 to 70 and back to rest. must have been the scariest thing evar.
