A HUGE annoyance with the NAVI system

say you want to search for a chain, whether it be restaurant or a parts store...

is there a simpler way to search a destination?

all that SUPPLIER, ATM, RETAILER, crap.. All i want to do is look for my nearest KFC or BK.. and it'll give me a list of marketing or research divisions on the other end of the country.

Go to "advanced" in the menu. You can customize.

The database listing is the biggest pain. That's why I rarely use it unless it is something very, very unqiue or if you are looking for anything within a category like an ATM or an Italian Rest.

Walmart can be Wal-Mart or Walmart or Wal mart or Walmart Superstores or any variation....the database is less than friendly I agree.

just wanted to say that KFC and BK were just examples...

i was actually looking for a Napa Auto parts nearby... after going through the longass list, never found the closest parts shop from our current point.

what's funny was that i was in a small argument at the time: my passenger was saying that a navigation system is never accurate and trustworthy, but i was saying that it was. i was searching for the parts shop along with a place to eat afterwards... didn't work out too well.. in fact, didn't work at all, for either one.

i know what everyone's about to say, and i'll say it too.. i was just unfortunate.. its happened to me a number of times.. someone saying that navi sucks and can't be THAT good. and just as i defend it, navi goes berserk; takes us in circles; and then someone steps up and says that there's a faster way to get back,, DOH

I've never had much luck with database lookups. I'll look for a Home Depot or Staples and for some reason it always thinks the closest one is 2500 miles away.
