How much can i take a monte carlo ss by?

This guy in my math class thinks his monte carlo ss is the shit so i gotta show him whats up. I told him i'll give him 2 car lengths head start from a stop to about 80 mph. Do you still think i can beat him to 80 if i give him 2 car lengths head start?? We are both all stock and i'm an auto cl. I wanna make sure i dont embarrass my self and lose some $$.

I think it might be close. However if you both go at the same time it won't. I owned a bitch in a Monte Carlo SS one night. I guess she had been watching to much NASCAR and thought her car was fast. I beat her by so many cars it wasn't even funny.

2 cars might be pretty close actually, esp since it will be tough to judge. Figure he's good for very high 15s at about 90 mph. You'll be pulling well up top, but don't figure on blowing by him if you give him the 2 lengths, catching, beating, ya, blowing by and embarassing, not to 80, run through 3rd to 115, you'll be laughing by then.

Not that it has to do with speed, but I can honestly say those cars are disgustingly ugly.

na, they'll do like 7.5-7.3 secs, but not very consistent.

They are not that fast. Well I just checked car-stat for a 2000 (latest year) for a monte carlo ss:

Car-Stats.com Report for 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
Obtained from C&D September, 1999
0-60: 7.9
1/4 Mile: 16.1

They are slow!!!

The 0-60-mph time of 7.3 will handily outdrag the mid-'80s SS V-8‹rear drive and all. Its low- and midrange torque is your friend.

link

like I said, not consitent

now come on, don't go picking on the mid 80s HO 305 monte carlo SS. They're not that bad...well ok maybe they are.

The 3800 is a stout low end car, runs out of steam up top pretty quick. I don't understand why they don't slap the blower on that car as well, the imp SS will get it this year...at least then the monte carlo would be fast and ugly, rather than just plain ugly.

speaking of mullets, one of, if not the best kill ever was about 2 years ago going to a evening basketball league in the summer. Was with my 2 younger brothers. My middle brother driving, little brother in back seat, dual sliders on mom's 00 venture 3.4. Roll up next to a lumina eurosport. THe early 90s lumina with the 3.1 pushrod V6, not the z 34 with the dohc 3.4.

One of the nicest mullets ever, KISS cranked on the stereo, tinted windows, (front coupe windows down), 3 or 4 of the pine air fresheners from the rearview. At the light my brother is revving the van. The guy looks over and laughs, my brother jumps on it, don't think the guy did at first. It was only about 200 yards to the next light. It was red also, stupid set up, always changes like that.

Now my brother has the back door open and is eggin him on. He's inching up, we're inching up. Go from teh line, even start the van pulls about 1/2 a car through first. Hits second pulls a little bit more. Ran to about 75 with him just at our rear bumper. At this point he had to merge in behind us as the lane was coming to an end. It was pretty sweet.

I smoked a stock one in my 2.3 auto w/ a 55shot. I mean I walked it!!

I'm sure I couldn't keep up with a CL-S squeezing.
