how many times you can resurface rotors

Had my front rotors cut and got new pads. Question is, how many times can you resurface rotors before you need to replace them?

I guess it depends on how badly they are wraped?
I don't think mine were to bad..

Sure, dealership can just keep cutting the rotors while its under the warranty... But when the warranty is over it will be the time you need to replace rotors with your money...

It comes down to the manufacturer minimum specification. If what they need to take off to make the rotor true exceeds the manufacturer minimum you need new rotors

How much it costs to put new CLS rotors when they wear out?

So I guess I will be replacing rotors with my own money next time I need new brakes...

Took my car to Park Ave again because of the rotors. I got 31k now and had them cut at about 17K at Park Ave also. Wayne told me the new pads are not as hard as the old ones. They did not change the rotors just cut them again. I presume the thickness was within limits. Time will tell!!

I guess it depends on how bad they are wrapped... If they are slightly wrapped, they will probably not cut a lot.

Again I say!

RussianDude- Twice and that's it. If it's the faulty brakes that acura had installed on your ride, they will replace the rotors for free. They did that for me too. FREE!

By that time they will be like "ops, warranty is over -- pay for rotors!"

I see now.... You just got them resurfaced. hehe. Well give them about 1500 miles and check. The brakes are covered for 6000 and then replaced free if there is a fault inbetween now and 6000. I don't know about the rotors. I just bitched and bitched and they replaced them.

here's my 2 cents...

the shop uses a micrometer to measure the thickness of your rotors. so it will really depend on how many microns of the rotors surface is removed everytime they're turned.

well in my opinion, all this about resurfacing the rotors is bullshit that Acura/Honda is trying to pull. a 30k+ car shouldn't have rotor problems the way these acuras have been having. I've had my rotors cut twice and the fuckers wanted to cut them again for a thrid time. I didn't leave the dealership until i had new rotors. I've had my tranny replaced and I may need it replaced once again because it is skipping again. I'm stuck with this dud until i can afford something else. Needless to say, my first acura will also be my last. If i am going to have my car in service every two months, I'd at least rather get a GM that is a lot cheaper. FUCK ACURA!

Mine have been resurfaced twice, and last time they replaced the pads. My next mod is to upgrade the brakes.
