How many people are using Scalbert's IC kit now or have it on order?

On a side note, although I'm going in a different direction, I'd like to say thanks to Scalbert for the development of that kit. I've really enjoyed reading the sucesses people have had with it as well as the knowledge that has been shared because of it.

Smitty and I recieved our kits last week.

I believe there are 4 other kits out there. One for an Accord, the others for CL/TL. And then I don't know who purchased the S/C and I/C that was originally on Scalbert's car.

There were a total of seven produced which includes the one I had. To my knowledge, five of them are currently installed or in process. Two, mrsteve's and Smitty's are about to be installed.

None, you would have to make a custom one if you didn't go with scalberts.

You would probably want an FMIC anyways cause of you kit and the intercooler probably might not fit with your Nitrous set-up.

Actually you wouldn't want a FMIC with a roots style blower unless you want terrible response.

For him its more cosmetic I would believe though, plus he has a direct port nitrous set-up so I have a feeling the Intercooler wouldn't fit where you had it.

The plumbing needed with a FMIC would severely cut back on the throttle response. If you also wanted a nitrous system, a nice fogger system could be incorporated with the intercooler designed by scalbert.

The workings of a FMICreally require a turbo where excess flow can be generated until the desired boost is reached. A FMIC with this roots style blower would probably result in seconds before full boost is seen.

He has a Direct Port Injection set-up already, thats why I doubt he will be able to put the Intercooler where everyone else has theirs

Brad ordered one and attempted to test fit it. The problem is that the proximity of the manifold inlet and the blower discharge would require serious fabrication. Not to mention there is little room to add such a device large enough to be effective.

That was one of the first areas we looked and it was found not to work with this application.

The full potential hasn't been found as I am sure a little more boost could be run. I was hitting a peak of about 8.5 PSI with it dropping to about 7.5 in the upper revs. This could be increased a little and if tuned accordingly could eclipse my 370 WHP easily.

IMO, with a good exhuast, more boost and tuning (maybe some race fuel), 400+ WHP would be realized.

I'd like to make a couple of comments about this system Scalbert has created. I've been around muscle cars since the mid 70's and had a variety of them from hemi chargers, to camaro's, which i presently have as well. I'm very new to the Japanese cars and the special tuning that is involved with the ECU's. In all my years of tinkering, I have never seen a kit that delivers as much punch as Scalberts IC for the buck. If you think about it, a typical CLS with SC develops about 300 WHP, according to comptech dyno. put the IC on and wham-o, 369 WHP. that's like 37$ per HP. That's just my 2 cent's worth of jiberish. Keep up the good work.

Hopefully soon i'll have some S/C + E-Manage dyno #'s, then S/C + Emanage + I/C dyno #'s. I might even throw a little 104 octane in there for shits and giggles

Hell yeah, Steve is da man.

BTW Serge (02AV6) once told me he decided to continue his project only because of scalbert's IC kit and of course Dr. Evil tranny. I am sure he'll give much props to Steve soon (can't wait to see his shit )
