After 27K on mine, they had to be replaced. The engine was misfiring and jumping I had no idea it was the fact the the iridiums were dead. I didn't look as close either when I bought. I now change them every 25K in case, I don't want to get stuck again. Silly though when you think what we pay for these things and they last only less than a 1/3 of the miles of our stock platinum. Sometimes modding isn't logical

I plan on replacing mine every 15k miles but only because of the blower. Otherwise I would do them every 25k.

I got mine ( NGK iridium ) from www.sparkplugs.com. They are $50 shipped. I have them for some 16kmiles. if they last 30kmiles this is not too good. But I can live with that. I felt difference when they were new. They performed well on the srtrip. Best 1/4 times were with CAI and new spark plugs.

You people have too damn much money to spend! Stock plugs at 45,000 miles and idle is still smooth and car gets to redline as fast as when it was new. No turbo? No SC? Stock plugs are all that are needed. Any other plugs are just; http://storefinder.unclebens.com/mas...top_banner.gif

The stock plugs are platinum, designed for longevity, not performance. These guys by Denso Iridium performance. Isn't that what you are here for? Performance? The Denso Iridiums are dyno proven to show gains. 3lb/ft and 4HP gain on Accord V6. It must be more for CL-S.

And pigs can fly! If you get a HP gain on a dyno from changing plugs, the ones you had in were f--ked up or the dyno operator does not know what the f--k he is doing! A stock engine will get no benefit from changing to expensive spark plugs! If the compression ratio is increased or forced induction is involved, they MIGHT help. If you really believe you can get more HP from changing plugs you should look into all the adds for for products that promise a increase in fuel mileage. If you get them all, you will have to stop every 100 miles to drain some gas out of your tank.

Denso Plugs

Your right, Denso Iridium plugs ARE performance plugs, but if you're running the plug rated for your car you should get plenty of life out of them. I've got 95K miles on mine. A number of things could cause early plug burn-out. If your running a plug too cold for your car, you'll build up carbon fast! If you run too hot of a plug you'll burn the tip in a short amount of time. If you're boosting, run a colder plug and shorten the gap, but you're STILL going to eat plugs. There's no way out. The Iridium plugs have the lowest misfire-rate of any plug. The higher heat transfer capacity reduces "hot spots" that cause pre-ignition power loss.
After all that, it still comes down to what works for you....

I put in Bosche Platinum 4's at 11,000 miles and noticed a huge difference, sorta like putting octane booster in yer gas tank. A set of new plugs always makes the car feel faster for a little while, until it starts to carbon track. I put the old plugs into my mom's beater car.

California and its anemic 91 octane can always use a boost, why can't we get 93 octane?
