i still dont know why everyone thinks the cl-p is such a peice . of course its not as fast as a type s but its no slouch. Its a good car, its basically the same engine as the cl-s just no actuator. And before you post somthing like that hit the search button rather then make me get pissed off about having this discussion again.

Err, not entirely. Its the same Block, but the Type-S internals are slightly reworked. It has domed pistons for higher compression and different cams, plus like you said the actuator.

With the lower compression though, couldn't we run more boost on a CL-P saying a turbo kit was available and forgeting that the tranny would blow? Just a random thought/question.

Even the cl-p had tranny problems in stock form.

I'm saying hypothetical. Or say you had a VR transmission in there. I know I probably need Scalabert or All-motor to answer this as they have experience with boost on the CL.

CL-P Is no slouch

I have a 2001 Cl-P

AEM V2 CAI
Polished Throttle Body
OBX Headers
Sprint Springs/Struts
17x7 3 Piece Konigs on decent rubber

She's pretty quick. I didnt have any problem pulling on my buddies 04 accord (240hp)

I've - (in legitimate 1/2 to 1 mile races) beaten a 97 GS-T Eclipse, 04 Accord 2 Door (auto V6), 03 Civic Si with bolt-ons, LS Integras with bolt-ons, and other unmentionable cars.

Don't get me wrong, I get my ass handed to me by any decently driven V8 powered musle car, though I did hop a light with a newer GT mustang, and I backed off the throttle at the switch to third - he hadn't pulled anywhere on me.

(Don't mess with WS6 TransAms, and anything that says 442 on the fender....)

I read somewhere that the cl-s had 35 more horsepower stock then the cl-p. So when you guys come out saying cl-s has 235 and cl-p has 225, it's a little confusing.

to really confuse the noobs, the CLP puts down about 170-180 at the wheels compared to the 195-205 a CL-S auto puts at the wheels.

oh and 260>225...haha!
