High pitch whine with replaced tranny

Has anyone (who has had the original tranny replace), noticed a high pitch whine with the new tranny?

I am currently on my second transmission. The high pitch whine has been there as soon as they installed it, and I drove it home.

Any thoughts? Moderators, can you please leave my post in this forum so I can get a few responses?

Thanks,
Kevin

Yup. Had it with both replacements. It goes away after a while. Or, I just don't notice it anymore.

I just got my car back last week with a replacement tranny. I haven't noticed any power loss or whining. Do you hear the whining constantly or at certain times?

Mine did not whine. One of my friends did whine about a week before it went out. Not saying that will happen to you, but be alert.

Might be some air in the fluid. Hopefully it'll work it's way out.

I have it too, but when the rpms rise, the whine gets drowned out. sounds like a poorly wire system, right. I personally think it sounds like a cool jet engine, like something's really workin under there.

Well, a whine was the exact reason that my CLS is currently in having its transmission replaced. TypeR, it's not normal. My CLS did not make the whine when I first got it or for the first 15k miles or so.

I've got the whine...I took it to the dealer and they "couldn't duplicate it" Screw it...if it goes again, it goes again.

Mine had a whine and then it gave out. Whether the two are related, I don't know...

I had my original tranny replaced about 4 months ago. The whine was there as soon as I got it back. It has not gotten any worse, but not gotten any better either.

It's high pitched and increases in pitch and intensity as the RPM's increase.

I have not noticed any power loss, and the replaced tranny seems to shift okay for the most part.

It does seem to have a hard time downshifting at very low speeds. If I almost come to a complete stop (brake to 2 or 3 mph), but then accelerate, the trannys seems to have a hard time shifting smoothly. It will kind of lag for a split second and then catch the gear (after the downshift) and lurch forward.

Don't know if this is just the normal tendency for the CL tranny - because my first one behaved like this too. It's kind of sad. Reminds me of a Dodge tranny - and Dodge is notorious for their transmissions.

Thanks moderators for leaving my post. You guys gave me some good info.
