HID Replacement Bulbs

Hey everyone, I need to get a replacement bulb for my CLS6... any feedback on which ones to stay away from or any suggested sellers? I've found some on EBAY http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/D2S-D...spagenameZWDVW

Also some here http://www.plasmagarage.com/XENON-bulbs.html

Anyone have a good reason I shouldn't buy the cheap ebay ones?

Thanks in advance!

akinaboy is a bit pricey, so I'll probably order from someone else.

I got some replacements from here when I cleared out my headlights. I've had them in for almost a month now and they are great! Can't beat the price and the 6K look SICK!

KAIXEN D2C bulbs are a great HID replacement bulb. I don't know how cheap you're looking for but they are $109 shipped to the cont US which is fairly cheap IMO for such a great product and a more complex bulb like the HID bulbs.

10000K = purple...

8 is the limit, bought these no-name 8000K bulbs from a local guy for $45 with a lifetime warranty. Worked great, 4 months now. Love the color and light output is still good too

from what i understand 10000k is deep blue, and they don't look purple until around 12,000k. Like I said, for $35 it's worth getting them to experiment with. I still have my Kaixen 8500's

10000k is more of a light blue. Trust me, I have them in my car and use them every day.

Oh and def get some yellow high beam bulbs so that you can see when its raining...

Anyone notice a major difference in light output in going to the 8000k? I'm a little worried that I've made a mistake after reading some things online. Supposedly the output of the new bulbs will be significantly less than the stock ones... hmmmm

The more kelvin (color) the less lumen (light output). 4300k which is the OE kelvin rating is technically the brightest bulb. 6000-6500k is pretty close in light output and to the naked eye can look brighter, as long as the bulb is made with proper technology/quality.

I've got the 8500 Kaixen's and I don't think the output is that much less than stock. I live in FL and drive through tropical storm/hurricane created rain a lot and I haven't had any problems.

Even 8500k when done correctly has a very minimal light output difference.

Not a problem. I figured i'd try them out and see. I mean its 35 bucks, even if they only last a year its worth it. I've had no complaints and I love the color of the 6K. That's as 'blue' as i'd like to go. Good luck!

I don't have any pictures yet, but all I can say is these things look sick! I'm really happy with the 6K. I'll have to take some pics at night and post 'em for ya.

Neither of these are very good shots, the first picture I wasn't trying to get a shot of the HID's and the second I just ran outside real quick and used my phone to take a shot. Hope it give you an idea until I get some better pictures.

Question......on a D2R bulb, does the part of the bulb that is blacked out go towards the top or the bottom when placed in the housing?

Just got my 6k bulbs today, and i had no idea installing them was more than just simply taking out the old one and sticking in the new one..

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...24#post9056124
I found that in the TL section of the board...anyone know if it's pretty much the same for our CL's?

The bulbs only fit in one way. You'll see what I mean when you try to put them in. They will 'lock' in once you have them turned the right way. its kinda weird cause the metal 'pin' is what really keeps them from moving around. Don't know why Acura didn't make them snap into place instead.
