YEA....That’s pretty funny, but I think it would be even better if they got caught and were held responsible for the cost of the blown motor.

...funny... but only until we all have to pay for these people's joy rides via higher rental rates, and more restrictive rental policies. It's always the few that ruin it for the many. Not enough people have a sense of personal responsibility these days IMO... to much ME ME ME attitude.

Call me old, I believe in that you ought to respect other people property. Just cause you rent it, does not mean you can abuse it...

A few years back, a friend of mine was supposed to head to Englishtown for street night with his MR2 Turbo. The day before the trip, he blew his tranny, so he rented a Nissan Maxima, threw a NOS system on it and ran low 14's at Englishtown.

The NOS was a total hack job, thrown together in less than 2 hours, but the engine survived without a hitch.

Anyway, low 14's for a rented, automatic tranny Maxima is not bad

Shawn, the fact that they posted this on the web, I think they may just find more trouble than they thought. It's not that tough to figure out where the car was rented, talk to a few people at the track and put 2 and 2 together.

They were some impressive kills though.

The disregard for other's property is pretty revealing about the guys involved. Yet someone pry off a Type R badge or ding a door on their shiny Civic Type S! and they'd be the first to scream bloody murder for someone abusing their property. I hope they get caught because of their attitude and bragging.

They should be forced to buy the Neon and let Thrifty rent out their Civic Type NSX! to cheap beer guzzling, green smokin, Taco bell eatin, nasty doin, free peein', greased up and stinky speed crazed NOS heads.

I feel better.

What would be really cool is if Thrifty found traces of nitrous or detected remnants of the NOS installation when they were repairing the car. The contract says no modifications or any type of racing is permitted with the car or the renter is responsible for all damage. I'd love to see the look on the face of the renter when Thrifty bills his/her credit card for $8K+ of engine damage. Now that would be funny.
