Here are the camber kits... (BIG PICS)

I won't be getting them installed until sometime next week probably, but here's what they look like and the instructions that come with them.

Hopefully they work.

Well if I have my friend do it, it would be cheaper than any shop, but I might just have the shop do it that is doing my alignment anyway so they can do it all at once.

I have a question:

Since my tires are all worn and screwy, will getting a perfect alignment and camber now make any difference if I'm gonna be getting new tires in a couple weeks?

Like, say I get new tires mounted and balanced, and put on - will the alignment still be perfect and valid? I would assume so, but just checking.

I think it is recommended, but not required to get an alignment after you get new tires.

The alignment shop charged me $50 for installation of my rear camber kit.

it is definately better to get your car aligned w/ the new tires, especially if your current tires are wearing bad. you should wait till the new ones are on.

That's probably the best alternative, I'm just wondering if I can get my camber kits installed but not aligned if that would do more harm than good.

Yarrr.

Not true. The alignment is set to the arms not the tires. Your tires will just be wearing evenly then. If you get new tires you dont have to get an alignment.

i'm not sure what you are trying to say.

i can tell you this though. it's always best to align a vehicle with the tires that will be on it for the long haul. doing so with tires that have inside (camber) wear is not the best idea because the tire is not sitting flat on the alignment rack. another thing i know about tires, once you start to wear a tire like that on the inside edge, depending on how bad it is it may never wear even again.

It is best to have new tires on before you do the alignment!!!!! If you have tires that are only worn on the inside, and you do the alignment, it will be straight for a while, but the weight of the car will cause the alignment to go out of whack because it will tend to put the tire to the ground, does this make sense?? Once you do the alignment with your old tires, you will see what I mean. Your tires will only be touching on the outside part. Then after some time, the whole tire will be touching and you will have this scenario again / \

Nice pics btw, let us know when you have them installed!!!

For the alignment I had done, my car was up in the air and things were attached to each of my wheels. I don't remember the tires being in any track. This is why I don't think tires matter.

depending on who makes the kit, and where they are installed, lower ball joint kit are $102 per wheel. no charge for alignment. control arm kits are $129 per wheel no alignment charge
Ouch! $450 to install a $300 bunch of equipment? GTFOOH! I hope my tech friend can do them instead.

I didn't know any answers until this guy emailed me back with that price estimate.
I still don't have an answer as to whether or not my friend can install these kits for me.
I don't see what answers I have?

That is kinda expensive. I think if he has the tools, then it can be done. It is not that hard, but you just need the right tools.

Yeah, it's easy to do. I have no experience with doin that on a Honda, but from the destructions looks just like poppin ball joints or tie rod ends off the mr2. You won't need that SST it calls for either, just a good 2 or 3 jaw puller. (you could use a hammer too, but that's the brute force way...)
