HELP! I put brake fluid in the PS pump by mistake!!!

I can not believe I did this. I was so tired from fertilizing my lawn, that I went right into the garage and saw the level was a little low. So what do I do, I add brake fluid instead of power steering fluid.

Will this be alright or should I try to siphon out the brake fluid?

nope, u will need to drain the power fluid and pray the brake fluid doesn't ruin any of the seals. call the dealer for additional advice, don't give them ur name, and find out if there is a drain plug

It was only 1/4-1/2 inch too. I siphoned it out and will look at draining it tonight.

Honda make cars demand power steering fluid made by Honda unlike other cars. You should get the fluid from the dealer. Use another car to get the fluid because you don't want drive your car now until the fluid is drained and refilled. By driving your car now it would send to corrosive brake fluid all over your power steering system

and don't drive it . . if you haven't already!

After you remove the hoses you want to buy some extra fluild and fill it up and drain it . . . sort of rinsing it out.

I forgot to mention the car shouldn't be turned on so the fluid doens't cycle the system. Hopefully he hasn't.
