Help With Brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Help With Brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took my car to Fountain Acura yesterday and today they called me telling me I would need to have my brakes resurfaced and the pads replaced( i took the car in complaining of brake problems) I took the service bulletin having to do with the car along too. Well, long story short they won't cover it under warranty and want $190 for their services, so my question is should I go ahead and get brembo cross drilled slotted and new pads and install it myself or have acura do the resurfacing? Also would install be more difficult b/c the car has ABS? and what else has to be done if it is more difficult. Thanks so much for your help guys!
This is freaking bull shit
Acura knows the problem that was the reason for the bulletin. I would call Acura and inform them that this dealer refuses to honor the service bulletin. I had mine resurfaced twiced at Park Ave

i just spent 25min on the phone with acura the guy kept telling me how brakes aren't covered under warranty. If anyone has any other brake info they can give me so I have ammo when the claims manager calls me I would really appreciate it.

Does anyone know where I can get good quality rotors for my car? I could get my rotors resurfaced at discount auto parts if I have to, but i'd rather just get new ones. Acura is really pissing me off, and also yes, add Fountain Acura to the BOYCOTT list.
I called customer care and mentioned the TSB 01-017 and they are trying to tell me that brakes are not covered under the warranty, I argued with the guy for 30 min, hopefully the case manager I talk to is more intelligent.

My story was: Pulsing brakes at app. 45,000, by the time I got an
appointment (for 45K service and brake work the car had 53,000 miles on it). They turned the rotors, but didn't replace the pads. I argued with the service manager about it, to no avail. I then made contact with another service manager (the original one had left the dealership) and talked to him about brakes and a couple of other problems (service charge was higher than quote, etc.), and that the brakes were pulsing again (now at 58,000 miles). By the time I got back to the dealer (this time for 60K service) the car had 63,000 miles, and I convinced them to replace the rotors (as leaving the original bad pads being left on was there mistake and probably "damaged" the rotors, bad in 5,000 miles!) and the pads. YMMV
