Help with auto tilt-down mirror

Okay here's the story... When I installed my headers I disconnected the battery and when I was driving around a few days later noticed the auto-up/down driver's window feature did not work. Took it to the dealer and got it fixed. The guy literally came back 1 minute later with the car and it was fixed. I know it was some sort of resetting wizardry and I really wanted to see the sequence so I could do it myself next time. Anyone know how? Anyway, I didn't realize at the time but I was backing in to a parking space the other day and toggled the switch to the center and the mirror did not tilt-down! Lost cool points because I was trying to show off to a friend. So does anyone know how to reset the mirror tilt function? Just don't want to have to go back into the dealer and look dumb. I hate no knowing how to fix my own car! Maybe I will just wait until I install my Icebox next week, because I'll have to go in for the window again anyway! Thanks for any help...

there is a sequence someone sent me a while ago when i asked him, but he said that i cant tell anyone cause its something that only dealers know and that if people do it, they can totally reset the security system ans shit like that. have them look at the mechanical parts next time, cause the simple reset or whatever didnt help.

anytime I've had the battery disconnected, the auto-down doesn't work for up to a couple of days ... then all of a sudden it starts working again. can't explain it ... if somebody knows of a
process to return to full function upon re-connection of the battery please share. tks

Yes, I made sure of that. Tried the other positions as well...

Yeah I heard about this so I actually waited a couple weeks but mine never fixed itself so I took it in.

maybe the mirror didn't tilt down cause there were no bright lights behind you. That's the only time the mirror should tilt when it's on.

yeah, you're right. I reread the first post and realized he's talking about the passenger side mirror. I was thinking he was talking about the middle mirror not dimming. Guess I should have read it more carefully to begin with.

When you disconnect the battery you have to have the car re-learn the idle as well as the auto/up down window.

For the idle, you need to turn off all acc. and let the engine idle until it's warmed up.

As for the window, you need to do a full down and then a full up. The computer re-learns the torque for the stop I guess.
