Heat Shield

Heat Shield

My heat shield is only being held up by one bolt and its starting to rattle. Think it would be alright to just remove it completely or shoud I sauder it back. I think the rust ate through the metal....

underneath.....theres more than one? theres only two bolts holding it up....

underneath what? are you talking about the ones that are over the exhaust manifolds in the engine bay? the one around the cat ? the one under the pre muffler?

its in the front.....I think its around the pre-muffler

it sounds like youre talking about the cat....take it off drill out the broken off screw and replace it....same exact thing happened to mine

Same thing happened to my Integra, god was that annoying, and the dealer wanted $36 for the damn screws!!!!

It does what is says. Shields the passanger area from excess heat. You can remove it, but the the carpet will get a little more warm. It's wouldn't damage anything I don't think. I had cars they were removed from before.
