I am thinking of getting the '03 front head lights, and the rear lights for my 2001 CL-S....but I am concerned mainly about the way the headlights look on a silver car....I painted my front grill as well as the lower grill silver, and I think that the '01 chrome headlights might look better than the '03. Plus I am taking delivery of 18" SSR GT3's in silver with a Chrome lip.

I am also not quite so sure about the rear tail lights. I am not positive if I like the look of the clear over my all red.

What do you guys think? All input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i saw a silver 03 the othee day and the tails do look HOT on silver but i don like the headlights jus paint the housing it'll look better

 

After seeing the new headlights in person I was surprised how much I liked them. How much for the new assemblies ??

I thought for sure I would get the '03 taillights but after seeing them on a silver car I dunno. I think those look great on the darker cars like the blue or black.

IMO, the new tails only look good on either a white or a silver. The tails don't fit with a darker color. THis is cause unliek the TL which actually has a sizable amount of body metal on top of the white portion to compensate, the 03 tails end in white and it just looks weird..

I absolutely love the 03 tails. I was never too fond of the back end of the CL, but these taillights made the difference! As far as headlights, I prefer the 01's on my car, but that's just because of all the chrome accents elsewhere. Here's a pic of my tails in all their glory

 

the taillights definately are an improvement in style, however it is debateable as to whether they look good on a darker car..i have a black car and im not going to get the new lights but i still like the style of them....as far as the headlights PUUUULEEEASE!! the chrome on the 01-02 is very stylish and adds a nice amount of character to the car....the new ones just look like a cheap aftermarket imatation....if i was to ever get a 03 or newer CL i would demand that the headlights be replaced with the older chrome ones....

By getting the 03 taillights, people that know the Type S well will look at it, and be like, why the fuck is that guy trying to make his 01 look like an 03.?!

I don't think its for me. $300 bucks or whatever for something that doesn't even make the car faster is pointless 2 me, imo.

 

Well first of all not many people even know what year OUR car is, let alone how a 2003 differs from it. So many people ask what year my car is even with all the stock parts on it. "Is that the 2000?" "Is that 2002?"

Although I'm sort of in a special situation having a 2002 color on a 2001 model year car. With the 2003 taillights I'd REALLY confuse everyone.

Second, if you're more worried about what the five people who could tell think than what makes you happy, that wouldn't be good would it?

I don't see the difference between getting '03 taillights and getting aftermarket taillights - it just happens that Acura makes nice taillights for the '03s. The fact that it's an OEM part instead of aftermarket isn't really an issue, at least not for me. I wouldn't care who makes it so long as it appeals to me.

 

I have a '01 silver and plan to leave it how it is. I don't care for the new heads at all. The tails are almost ok, but i still don't like them.
