Im finally getting my headers this weekend... brand new COMPTECHs .. for an unbelievably low price of $800 CDN tax in + install... thanks to my cousins bf... haha..
what are ur opinions about these headers..is it worth spending the money?..can you really FEEL the difference right off the bat..or only after VTEC (5000RPM+)??? i've seen the chart where the headers add 24HP after VTEC..mostly at the high end?.. is that accurate?

im thinking of getting sways also.. if he can hook up the sways for $200 its sold..so thats $1000CDN for both.. which equals approx. $680-$700 US.. talkk about a fricckin deal...

 

Yeah, remember it's a JOLT of 25-30 HP that you are getting!! The car absolutely JUMPS!!!! They are AWESOME for highway driving/passing. When cruising at like 80mph most people don't have anything left and then we drop down two gears from 5th>3 Muuahaahahah!!!!!!!!!!! 80->110 comes very fast.

 

It's definitely worth it. You will feel some gains down low... probably in the 8-15hp range... but the biggest gains are at high RPM, so you will really feel it pull over 4500RPM or so. You're getting a peak of around 30whp for a damn good price... so only you can really decide if it's worth it. I'd say it is... and from your post.. it seems like you know that it is too.. so just go for it....

 

In all honesty.. they are NOT worth the full price. But at the $ you bought them at, hell ya.

You can feel a little difference in the mid range rpm's. It'll pull better, but there's a definetly a significant difference from 5-7k. On the highway is where you'll notice the big difference.

In combination with a CAI it's a good improvement over stock. Since our cars accelerate so smooth anyway your not going to be "HOLY CHIT!" after you install them. But you will certainly feel the difference.

 

yeah the holy shit comes when you are in SS and holding revs at like 5k then WOT I don't ever remember that happening before headers

OH YEAH, you can actually pass pretty well in 4th gear! The car is completely different with them!

 

How come you pay only $800 CDN for brand NEW Comptech heades. That is like $525 US!!!

Are you kidding me? Can you really get those from an authorized Comptech dealer for that price?

Unless those are "sneaked out of inventory" at $0 cost, I do not think that is possible....

But good luck for you, at $500 they are worth it....

HOW about the sways?!?. do they really make a big diff with cornering?. or rubber still plays the biggest role?.. b/c i have cheap kumhos on...but oh well theyre good for the price......

 

CT sways are worth each cent of their price...CLS with CT sways feel 10X better!

 

my cousins bf friend owns a shop in montreal... Im not sure if he is an authorized comptech dealer..but he can get comptech products.. who knows..maybe it is "sneaked out inventory" or "fell off the truck" inventory.. hehe.. but as long as its brand new..and its comptech.. and its that price.. its sold..
oh yah..how do you tell if it authentic comptech?.. haha.

dont worry..notice how i didnt mention any names?.. haha. and that price is for close friends only.. ill find out how much he sells them regularly... and $800 may not be accurate.. but he said under $1000 CDN (tax incl) for sure... so its 800-999
CDNrange..which is still a wicked price.. but if its anymore than that then forget it.. b/c im not as Rich as some of you folks in here... hehee...
