It's really dependant on the dealership.
Acura of Bellevue actually installed my headers
pre-delivery, including springs and intake. They
said they'll cover most comptech parts under the
manufacturer warranty.
But not all dealerships are aftermarket friendly.
You have to look around.

Closer is right. Not all dealerships are aftermarket friendly. I speak from experience. And not everybody has a dealership around them, that is willing to install comptech parts.

Legally they have to cover it unless they can prove it's directly caused by the aftermarket part. But, they can be major dicks about it. It's just easier to find a place that is known to to be aftermarket friendly.

Bring copy of m/m to dealer if problem
Some areas have only one dealer, some people have to drive far to get to just one dealer.
Check the listings for dealers in Reno, NV -- there are none. Must drive drive drive for nearest dealer.

Quote from faqs:
"To elaborate a little on what nootch said...
There is a law called the Magnusson-Moss warranty act that in three or four hundred pages simply states that no warranty can be "automatically" voided when an aftermarket part is installed. This is to protect consumers from situations such as this: Say you use an aftermarket oil filter on a brand new car and then the engine blows up at 5000 miles. That law is there so the manufacturer can't say, "well, you didn't use our oil filter, so we're not gonna cover this!" There is the provision in the law however, that if any aftermarket part can be determined to be the cause of failure of an original OEM part, then warranty service can be denied.
All in all, you just have to use common sense when modifying your car. Simple things like springs, headers and an intake are pretty unlikely to cause anything major to go wrong. But say you add a supercharger that gives you an extra 100 hp without building up your tranny so it can handle it. Then you blow up your tranny. Guess what.... it won't be covered!!"
