??Head Work??

I recently found out that a friend of the family owns a salvage yard. The owner thinks he has an 02 CL-S that was side swiped but no damage was done to the engine compartment. I want to take the intake manifold and heads have them ported and polished, and possibly cams. I basical;ly need to know if you guys think this would be a waste of time and money. Im comming up on 100K and i was going to make the swap when i did the timing belt. Any input would be helpful.

I hope I can get the machine work done for around 250-300. Depends on where I take them. I think I can get the rest for almost nothing if I pull them off the car myself. Anyone know any machine shops in the middle tennessee area that has experience with imports. I would rather not have some red neck that thinks a chevy 350 is the only engine in the world worth building work on somthing that will go on my car. If any of you guys have been to middle tennessee you would understand.

Hmm, I guess it's all up to what you want your CL to be. Me personally I'm happy with the performance from just the header/CAI, but for some it's not enough. I'm not sure if porting/polishing will truly give you much more HP, maybe a few at the crank but that doesn't translate to a lot at the wheels. Now a cam might be another story, don't know much about numbers on that. So basically I have no clue if either one is "worth" it or not, depends on how much money you have to spend on your car. I'm sure the best major hp gain you're going to get beyond the usual typical bolt-ons is F/I. Just my

I've been to Chattanooga...what a crap hole!

But yeah the ported heads will do some good. If your getting the timing belt done that has to come off anyway so labor should be cheap.

I have been to Tennessee (Chatanooga) and I do understand! lol Yesh shir I dun do undershtand...

As far as the heads, that will be just the start and you will want to keep building...do yourself a favor and just start building with a 3.5 as mentioned. Or depending on what you can get price wise, go F/I. Have you ever seen typeR's 3.5?
