hard to find 2003 CL-S 6 speed ?
hard to find 2003 CL-S 6 speed ?
Was it hard for you to find CL-S 6 speed with the color you wanted? I live in Bay Area CA, my dealer told me there is only one Taffeta white/parchment leather with 6 speed in North California. I am not sure if he is try to scary me or not... Are CL-S 6 speed really rare and hard to find?
I got mine last spring and called every dealer in LA, Orange, and Riverside county checking inventory. I believe three dealers had the 6 speed the way I wanted it. The dealer I got it from had two of them.
When I checked for a 6 speed with navi in December (I was sooo ready to ditch my TL...) There were only 2 within 1-2 states of me...an ABP and a White one. Without navi, they should not be too hard to find though.
go to www.acura.com and select the "locate a dealer" tab. here you can look for dealers in your area and, if the dealer has their inventory online, you can check out what's available and make some calls. should save you some time/effort/travel/gas. at least you can potentially verify that your dealer is being straight with you or not.
Acura claimed they would only make 2700 vehicles with the six speed manual transmission. Whether or not this is true is anyone's guess. I know that many dealers were (supposedly) limited to only carry 2 or 3 in stock; a number of us had to have their six speeder delivered from another dealer in a dealer-to-dealer transfer.
Call around and good luck.

I ordered mine back in April of 2002....had no problems, it came within 4 weeks. So far its put me further in the hole than i want to be, but it costs money to go fast...other than that I love it

Thank you.
You may be able to find the quote somewhere like http://www.acuranews.com . When it was released, Acura said they would only produce 2700 of the six speeder manuals total.

And it’s been noted in several of the magazine reviews.

When I shopping around most dealers had a 6-spd on hand, maybe not in the color I wanted. No dealers in the surronding states had a 6-spd with navi in black/black. I had to wait 2 months for mine to be made then shipped to 3 hours away from me. I also live in Oklahoma so that had a lot to do with it.

I live in MA and bought one (Silver Type S 6-sp) 35 miles away from home. My local dealer, 13 miles from home, told me there were only 11 6-speeds in the NE area. I followed up and did a dealer inventory and found this to be true.
for the most part the dealerships do know exactly how many and what kinds are out there, because they do dealer trades, etc... but every once in a while a dealer tucks a car away or something they do keeps the car out of the inventory that every one else sees.
because that's how i got my car, i called 7 dealerships and no one found the car i wanted. and the santa monica dealer 40 miles away said their sister dealership had one tucked away and they'd be willing to sell it to me so i lucked out.

Inskip Acura found mine at Claire Acura in MA on Monday, and I got it later that week. I was told by both dealers that they could only order 1 (one) 6spd per month.
My color combo (red/parchment) probably isn't that popular because my car was built in August, and I bought it in late September. Looks like mine sat on the lot for a little bit.
If they can't locate a specific color/option combo (and work a deal with the dealership that has it), they can have one built for you (like others have said, it'll be about 6-8 weeks).
