I am thinking of doing what supertrooper did, painting the chrome wing satin black and putting in a carbon fiber acura "A"

if your going to use "gutter guard" I would say at the least cut it so it fits to the bottom completely. My first grill was done with the stuff and I think it looked best with no "A" or wing just mesh and trim.

I like the stock grill, but I have an '03 and there is nothing chrome on the front. I like the black look with the silver.

Man I love your grill, I might end up using your idea if it's ok with you. What kind of mesh did you use and where can I buy it? IMO, the mugen emblem looks awesome, something different.

Paint it all body color and it might look good on your car. Not sure if I seen it done before on an SSM

From your choices, I vote stock

Here is mine

Yea, not a big fan of just painting the whole thing one color like that. Looks kind of cheap in my opinion.

see avatar - I don't have a closeup handy. I did an 03 surround, took off the chrome wing, painted all the inside plastic flat black, and added gloss mesh on the outside.
