Got my PIAA bulbs

Hey guys first off I am sorry, I tried using the search feature but I cant find any instructions or any help on how to install my fog light bulbs.

I got the bulbs today, but I dont know how to get to the bulbs. I have an 01 CL-S with OEM fog lights. I havent tried looking in the manual, but my car came with a 02 TL manual, so I am not sure if its the same.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Search harder.

There is a screw you can access from the inside of the grill towards the raod lamps. Use a long phillips screw driver. Unscrew, then pop the lamps out.

It's really easy. These are the instructions I followed. Click here

Just take your time removing the screw, since the head is really small and if the Phillips head screw driver is too large, you won't catch the head.

Also, the bulb may be a hair too large. Be careful putting it in to the housing. I used a Dremel and just opened it a bit.

Good luck.

If you really want to change it without messing anything up. Put your car on a jack. Lay on your back and you can remove the bulb itself without taking out the housing. I found this easier since you sinply have to turn the bulb and harness counter clock wise, change the bulb and put it back in( no messing with screws and foglight housing) The directions are in the book. I'll check on my lunch break and tell you wat page. FYI I changed my bulbs 2 times. 1nce with a screwdriver and the scecond time following the directions. It prefer to do it this way

j/k sheesh

Also, I think it's harder to go from underneath because you have to remove the splash gaurd.

i've done it twice already...both times from below the front bumper. just removed one clip on each side, slid my hand under the guard, removed the old bulb, and insterted the new one.

less than 5 minutes to replace both.

i'm curious...what replacement bulbs did you install?

i bought piaa 19227, but they were slightly big and had to open the housing a bit. my first pair were other (19173 i think) piaas and fit perfectly (same size as oem bulbs).

these 19227 xtreme white are light blue, which i cant stand. once i find WHITE bulbs, i'm going to replace these ugly, oversized, purple when off, nasty bulbs.

I'm not that mechanically inclined.
When i did it with a screw driver, one of my lamps never fitted as nicely as it once did

I think the piaa 19224 are the correct bulbs for our foglight housings. Someone back me up on this.

Yes they are...but IMO they dont match the HIDs that close. Yes a better replacement then the OEMs but they look too blue.

I replaced mine using instructions here after doing search. Couldn't have done w/o the instructions here. Had no idea how easy it was.

Hey, I have a LT, but my roomate just got an 01 CL and the fogs don't work. How do you turn them on? I guess that they come on with the parking lights. We have not looked at the fuse box yet, or both of the bulbs could be burned out.

BTW. I just put PIAA Ion Crystal in my TL fogs and they look great, very yellow. I got the Lexus IS 300 look I wanted

That's exactly the look i'm going for. As from your roommate, the roadlamps automatically come on when you turn the lights on. They dont come on with just the parking lights. Check for a blown fuse, if not, the bulbs could just be completely out.

BTW, do you have any night pics of your fogs with the PIAA Ion Crystals?

Here are the pics of my TL and my roomates CL. I could not get the bulbs to show their color with a regular picture. Both cars look very yellow, but the CL just does not project that far. Still looks good. The wall picture has the CL on the left and the TL on the right. Both have PIAA Crystal Ion bulbs.

I'm likin' how the projection looks on the CL. What bulb did they buy forthat? Was it a perfect fitment?

The CL (one on the left in the lower pic) has a PIAA Ion Crystal size 168/192. They are also called 19173. I got mine on E-bay here is a link to the bulb Please note that they are not the bulbs in the combined picture on the right. That is my TL with 9006 bulbs, they are much brighter, but the same color. http://piaa.carshopinc.com/product_i...id/42535/19173
