Got ICebox and Sways

Just picked up some Comptech sways and Icebox yesterday at the meet at Woodbine Acura. They gave me the wrong Icebox though, gave me the one for the automatic! I wanted to do both installs today, but looks like I'll have to hold off on the icebox for awhile. Gotto to see if they will ship them to me as I don't live in Toronto and I won't be travelling that way for awhile...Hopefully the sways install will go well!

Hey gurot1,

saw you at the meet...

make sure you use the teflon tape...otherwise you will scratch the sheiBe out of the rear sway...

Hobes did you have the black CL that had the comptech springs?

We used two layers of teflon tape on the sways. Only got a chance to do the rear ones yesterday night...I'd been helping my friend move and assemble furniture and we didn't get started till late. The car does feel tighter in the back in turns. It seems better planted. I noticed that bumps feel a little bit more pronounced, but it's not like they are harsh or anything. Won't get a chance to put the front ones in for a week or two b/c of work.

For the rear CT sways, if you have the poly... bushing, replace them with the hard rubber bushings that CT now sells. This is what CT will be shipping as the stardard bushing. They don't have the squeak problem.

When will they be shipping this as the standard bushing? I'm just about ready to buy some CT sways, sounds like I should wait until they replace the bushing?

Not sure when CT will be shipping the hard rubber bushings with the CT sways, but they just told me soon. You can order the rubber bushings separately now for only a few $ each.

I had just sent Comptech an email about this and here is the response I received:

John,
We now include rubber bushings for the rear bar in place of the urethane ones we used to include to get rid of the squeaking noise that is normally associated with urethane. We have them in stock. Thanks.
-Joe.

Just drove out to work today, it was mostly on country roads (ie 80km/h limit..aka known as everyone drives atleast 100km/h). The car feels much tighter, kind of feels like my integra now, there isn't much of a delay in response when u turn the steering wheel like there used to be. The ride is rougher now, I definitely feels some bumps that I didn't b4. Can't wait to get the front sway bar on...if u've seen my other post, I kind of messed up my spare tire well b/c we jacked my car up in the wrong spot...oh well, nothing that can't be fixed...probably could've got the sways installed for the price it'll cost to get the trunk fixed! But you learn a lot when u work on your car!! Nothing like a little bit of elbow grease!
