Spare tire well got messed up!

My friend and I just installed my rear comptec sways last night, but it looks like we ended up using the wrong jack point. The spare tire well is bent upwards a bit in the back and now the spare tire sticks up in the back half of the trunk and it's pushing the trunk board (the piece that acts as the truck floor) up. Is there anyway to fix this? It looks like the trunk bottom has been pushed up 2-3 inches. I tried using a block of wood and hammering the wood to see if I could push it down but no luck and I didn't want to try too hard b/c I didn't want to break anything else and make it worse! I'd used the correct jack point when I was painting my calipers, but I think we went in too far when we jacked it up last night. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it, or do I have to take it into a shop?
Thanks!

I would say you're gonna have to take it in.

How the heck did you miss the jack point???

wow, it never stops amazing me how foolish some people can be. you need to get that car to a body shop and have them pound that out.

why dont people understand you have to jack a car up by the frame?!!!!

and you didnt "go in a little to far" with the jack....you went DEAD CENTER of the car....how could you mistake the dead center of the car for the frame (which is always along the outermost edge)?

Jim, in his defense, there is a jack point in the middle of the car just past or in front of the rear sway bar (if I remember correctly).

Easy boy, easy...

just replace the spare tire with a can of Fix-a-flat.

You must have jacked it up by the bulge underneath that looks like it is reinforced but actually isn't...next time you back it up from the back, do it about 6 inches forward from that point.

Just have it pounded out and rust proofed and you will be fine.

Didn’t you guys notice that the JACK was going up, but the car WASN’T ???

Oh, and disregard all the “experts” that posted above and just read the manual next time.

I never said I was an "expert", picture boy. I gave opinionated information, based on my recollection, not factual.

that's too bad ...
Gur0t1,

You should have called me -- I would have told you! (That 'expert' you got in K/W isn't quite the 'expert' -- the guy who helped you, not the guys on the A-CL board)

Hey ... I might have to pick up that Icebox you've got at your house ...

I used that point that's about six inches or so away from the tow hook. It looks beefier than that bulge right infront of the hook, but I guess there really isn't anything supporting it. The car was moving up as the jack was, but I guess they weren't moving up at the same rate... I'll have to go to a bodyshop and have them pound it back into shape; it doesnt' have to look perfect!

Derrick, I never said he was an 'expert'...just an engineer!!! I wonder if Woodbine would give me both Iceboxes at the same price since they messed up the order

Correct.......The tow hook IS the lift point for a floor jack.

It’s made by Michelin. (I know weird ).
I got it at Sam’s Club for about 60 bucks.
22” lift and 3 1/2 ton capacity.

That is a wussy jack.

The one in the lower left hand coner is a 'real' jack:

Obviously not a mechanical engineer; must be an IE!!

Just go to a body shop and pay up and get it fixed correctly.

Shawn,
I use that same Michelin floor Jack in my garage.
It's holding up real well to some of the extemes doing the
Jeep lift.

it is by no means a wussz jack (sorry scalbert )

There is a frame cross memeber just forward of the engine. In the center of this is the suggested fron jack point.
