got door sill ~ disappointed

waited 3+ weeks for CL sills ~ got CLs sills
returned them (paid $6 to ship them back)
got the right ones today
and they were in horrible condition

bent like crazy
and the silk screening is horrible
there are many areas where it didn't print on the aluminum

o well i am tired of waiting.. i'll just go install them rite now

sorry about the whining... just disappointed

theres countless aftermarket sills for many cars under $30. heh

it costs less then $10 for a piece of aluminum... you can by from any milling shop a piece cut to your specification engraved and all for $15.

Mine were also bent, and he was suppose to send me replacements, he basically ignored me and will no longer respond to emails, etc. Last time I am giving him business.

Mine came in a card board that was bent to make a box with tape all around it. Not a box, not a tube, just a side of a box bent over to make a sealed flat panel.

Mine came in the tube. My tube was intact.
I e-mailed them a while back to confirm they were sending me CLS sills, not Cl sills, and i got a confirmation.

That was way back in july tho, before they got a lot of mail

Why those are pretty bent out of shape , but that definitly is the USPS's fault. I got mine in the same tube and it was ok. I had to wait like 6 weeks for mine, but was pretty happy when I got it. He isn't exactly ignoring e-mails, he just doesn't seem to get through all of it fast enough, I mean the guy is handling a LOT of people; CL AND TL. I've learned e-mail will get you no where, if you are really concerned and it is an emergency, you should bring it up to Austin or do what I do and just call. Last time I heard, Jeff was on the brink of mental break down?

Pete, check out this topic: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...ght=door+sills . It's a long one, but just scan it and you'll get some idea.

Personally, from reading this and several other topics.... I'm more and more happy that I decided to NOT order these. I'll feel bad for those who have and are waiting or had a bad experience like in this topic, but I didn't trust them from day one. They were very slow to reply to emails, and even when they finally did they never answered all of the questions......

The "price will increase every week" dissuaded me.

I feel a need to say something here, since I am happy with the sills. I sent my money via paypal on the 4th of July and they were at my door in 2 weeks in perfect condition. Before I purchased them, I tried getting in contact with the company, but had no luck. I then realized later that he is very busy and the best way to find out the info I needed was to go through Austin519. Also, Austin took care of those that were having any problems, and he contacted the company directly.

Yes, the damage sustained by the original poster's sills was caused by USPS. Do you really think the sill-maker would bend them like that before he shipped them? Stuff gets damaged in the mail all the time.

If you have any problems PM or email Austin519!

True, however, the seller should have packaged all of them in a cardboard tube... not just a few. That's just common sense....

its not just the "bend" that I am unhappy about, the silk screening was not good at all. There were many many spots where the silk screening did not print

In Austin's defense.....I got mine...and I'm happy...they look good..and are thicker than most sills, my friend who has the aftermarket ones for his miata confirmed that, and miatas do get quality aftermarket manufacturers...
