Got call from dealer today about Tranny.
So Acura is offering me a 80/20 deal. They'll pay 80% of the repair for a new tranny in my 01 CLS. I asked him if all the issues were resolved in the newlly remanned trans. He said they were resolved, and there was no need for the Oil Jet Kit.
Just wanted to find out what you guys have seen in the past with this. Should I press for a Oil Jet Kit? The new tranny is going to cost me about $700.00 bucks. And it will come with a new 3yr/36K mile warranty.
Any thoughts?

Is your vehicle over 93 months old or over 100,000 miles? If not you better tell them that they should cover 100% since that is what the transmission warranty was extended to for all 2001-02 and some 03's. If you are over that either of these marks then I would give one last try and call Acura customer care and see if they would cover 100% and if not take that deal.

I'm over the 93 month by 3 weeks. But I had called them before on the day it expired and told them there was a problem. I only have 72K miles.

That is really close and since you called before they should give you the benefit of the doubt if you can prove it. Silly question do they go by the manufacture date or the original purchase date of the vehicle? I have never had to deal with a warranty issue so close so I don't know.

Warranty starts from the original purchase date. I'm the second owner, so I did not know that info when I called them.
I'm still actually waiting to hear from the Acura Rep himself to see if there is anything else that can be done!

On my 97 Acura steadfastly refused to do anything when it failed at 32k.
I sued and won 12 of the 1400, this was in 2005 or so and there was never a recall on the 3.0. I would think Acura has learned their lesson and with some pushing will cover the whole thing.
Good luck.

If you've got multiple dealerships in your area, try a different one if you can't get anything done with them. There are 3 main Acura Dealerships in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas area... The one in Arlington is absolutely horrible and will never do anything, but I know for a fact that if I went to either of the other 2 dealers, they'd pay for the transmission 100%.
