Can someone elaborate on this for the FAQ?
Does it always make the UFO sound?
It this a common problem for all air rams?

UFO sound?????

quote:

After 3 tests on the dyno, I was really amazed that we had pulled 165.4 Horsepower at the wheels. The difference from Stock to the Weapon-R intake system is a whopping 7.2 Horsepower. For a mod that is very inexspensive, safe, makes your car sound great, this is the most horsepower that you can buy for your car for the money.

Not only on the dyno did it perform well, but on the streets as well. When I get on the car, shifting from 1st to 2nd gear I feel a punch that I haven't felt before. The performance is very noticeable. I've tested out other intakes, but this one really does the job. Thumbs up all the way!

BTW -- about comparisons betwen AEM and Weapon-R.

I took moonmaster_99's dyno and rescaled/translated/and rotated it against Mike's "popular" dyno *and* compared the areas under the Weapon-R and Mike's dyno.

The areas are so close that it is very difficult to tell which one is better -- they are that close.

I'm going to upload it... And it is very had to read it as shown. It would take me a while to process out the "junk" to make it very clear!

(Note -- since the Weapon-R (baseline) HP header level was lower and its graph wider, the graph is scaled *and* translated to match.)

A COLD BOX + shor ram does not equal a ram air system...

ARE you talking about short ram intakes or what???????

Maybe I'm wrong but I think he was talking about the "ram" air Dragon intake system that Weapon R makes. It is a short intake + a connectable scoop. It looks kinda like 'My First Ram Air Set.' But then again I'm not a big fan of WeaponR.

It is actually a problem with all short rams...and the filter design is not the issue.....it seems the short ram hits the dual throttle plates at just the right angle...what you are hearing is the resonating effect of the air hitting the secondary throttle position which is what helps the torque remain flat on the CL-S.....the Helmholtz Effect....I read it somewhere...
