G-Tech vs. TAZZO

Any of you guys ever hear of a Tazzo Motorsports VPC (Vehicle Performance Computer) = $139

Here is their website: www.tazzo.com

Here is a quote from a posting on LS1.com:

"This is one reason I just got a tazzo vpc..the tazzo has way more useful features than the g tech pro..gives 60fts,lets you run 1/8 mile..doesn't need the finnicky leveling of the g tech,is much better for tuning as you can get et and hp readings betweenany two speeds so you don't have wheelspin and shifting irregularities. Most importantly the tazzo can be finely calibrated to the actual track times..so you just do some runs with both and then you dial in the tazzo 60ft,et and mph to match your track results..NICE FEATURE. I love practicing my 60fts with it and being able to run an eighth mile instead of the much faster 1/4. And I love that I can see my 60ft on any of my runs."

Any thoughts......??

I think the major differnce is the accuracy, here is the accuracy of the G-tech

and here is the accuracy of the Tazzo

60ft test +/-0.02 seconds
0-60 test +/-0.1 seconds
1/4 mile speed +/-1 mph
1/4 mile ET +/-0.1 seconds
Braking distance +/-2 feet
Horsepower +/-2 hp
Lateral g's +/- 0.2 g

and they are both the same price.

I would suggest reading a thread I posted in First Gen before deciding on the GTech. Thread.

Thanks.

I just ordered my Tazzo should be here in 3 days

KCPreki11: what do you mean? there is a G-tech (old version) and G-tech pro (new version) and Tazzo is completely different company.

No problem!

Let me know how the Tazzo performs. I would still like to have a reliable personal performance meter/computer.

Waiting for this:

More info here:

• Acceleration Times to 1/100 sec.
• G’s, HP & Torque Graphs
• RPM sensing through advanced DSP techniques
• Intelligent Shift-light
• Traction and Cornering light
• Works on any vehicle
• No installation, 4 accelerometers built-in

Ever modified your car and were curious about results?
Ever wonder how your car would behave on the edge?
The Next Generation G-TECH/Pro Performance Meter is here. It answers these questions and a lot more. It’s called COMPETITION and it gives you any performance measurement you can think of. Now the accuracy is within 1/100 of a second! Achieved using four accelerometers for complete pitch and yaw correction, now it works on anything that accelerates. It measures your car’s RPMs using an intense DSP paired with a powerhouse ARM processor and very sophisticated software. Now we measure Torque as well. The new graphic display shows graphs of RPM, Horsepower and Torque for analyzing shift points and engine/driver performance. G-TECH/Pro COMPETITION is now a full-blown data acquisition system with the ability to store runs and view them later on the display or on your PC.

The Intelligent Shift light feature looks at delivered horsepower for the optimum time to shift in order to get the most out of the engine depending on the gear. The Traction light alerts the driver when there is a traction loss during acceleration. It’s fully adjustable for desired amount of wheelspin. The Cornering light looks at lateral G’s and progressively warns the driver as the car is getting towards the limit.

These technologically cutting-edge features provide a very sophisticated way of tuning your car. Not to mention how much of a blast it is to use. You will

That look suspiciously like a re-badged GTech-Pro, and a bit of marketing info. The display is identical along with the buttons and the case design.

I've heard good and bad things about the GTech-Pro, having owned one for about six years now it has seen plenty of use at Atlanta Dragway. I've used it nearly everytime I have run there which means well over 100 passes.

The ET accuracy I have see has been a worst case, when properly mounted, of about 0.15 off. I would bet that the average error I have seen in ET is about 0.075 seconds.

Trap Speed has always been about 5 MPH too high and I typically disregard it (particularly when I had my Typhoon as MPH was terrible anyway when related to ETs).

Now, when I have mounted wrond the readings were all over the place.

Thanks... I will try to catch the ad online or on paper...

Too bad, Gtech has nothing new on their site...

$250 is MSRP, I hope it would go for $200 on the street..

It has a 2axes accelerameter, this can make a night and day different.

I hate you have to level the G-tech. The tazzo you dont. Mine should arrive tomorrow, too bad I have nothing to compair it to.

also they must be very new. My invoice had a very low number.

One good thing I like about those moduals is that they have a very good resale value :P
