Hey guys, my friend has a 00 Mcoupe he just picked up a few months back and took me on a ride for it yesterday. Oh man, oh boy, that car is just sick !!! It hauls some serious ass lol We were carving up corners like nothing and hitting 90 plus easily. He did a run from a stop sign and shifted at 6K for each gear and the car pushed me to the back of the seat lol B4 the E46 M3, his Mcoupe was the quickest M3 made. He has a g-tech (i know all those bad things abt a g-tech but still) and had a best 0-60 of 5.29 sec He plans on getting I/H/E soon and adding a 75 shot of nitrous soon Just thought I would share, b/c even though his car may not be the best looking car on the road (still a lot better than a wrx in that dept. lol) it'll mop up many cars including an S2000 .

p.s. I was in a S430 today w/ the AMG sport package (18s and body kit) and that car is also very very sick lol i'd give up myright kidney 4 it even though its "only" an S430 lol

 

it s called M coupe... not a m3.... sigh:o

He should get a Dinan suspension kit, then a Supercharger for 350+ hp

 

Too bad your friend missed the new 3.2 M engine by one year. Your friends car is 240hp. The 2001 M coupe is 315hp! Imagine how much faster that would have been....

Nice car, and you don't see many of them. Handling is absolutely outstanding! Rides like it's on rails. They also upgraded the suspension on the 2001 models. Even better than the previous years... Almost 0 body roll, I took a corner in one at 60 and the car laughed at me!

yah it is a m coupe... m3 only has 4dr (e 36 model)..2dr or convertible.... no hatchback so far..

 

Still.. its too bad it looks like a Civic hatch :P

 

I had a 00 Mcoupe with all sorts of Dinan shit (no SC though).....fun car, the 2001 with 315hp actually isn't that much faster off the line than the 240hp version. The new motor really shines in the midrange area.

 

1st 60ft, nah. But after that hell ya! I've driven both, I'd have to say 315hp version kills the 240hp... Much better power band.

Most of the 240hp M coupes I've seen run 13.8's 13.9's. You can get a 13.1 out of the 315hp coupe! 13.2's pretty consistently.

Supposedly there is a supercharger comming out for the new 3.2L M engine this fall. Wonder what the output is going to be!?

And isn't the new body style do out late this year or next for the Z3? Z4? (whatever they plan on calling it)

 

My boy would love 2 get an s/c but they are kinda pricey. I told him 2 just get i/h/e b/c they give good gains on the Ms and possibly a chip from a reputable company (any recommendations?)

The thing is my friend bought it used b/c the Mcoupe isn't 2 favorable on the used car market. He would love 2 get the 315hp one but dlrships even have markups on that
