FUN NIGHT WITH POLICE! "PIC"

So im driving through a high traffic area known for street racing just goin to a little get together with my buddies Jeremy (97' Cobra Mustang) which i happened to beat in a drag. And then Andrew (06' Cobalt LS) He took the photo and video.

Cop gets on the Intercom and says "WHY YOU DRIVIN YOUR MOMMYS CAR?"
And so we pull over and I tell him "I PAY THE BILLS ON THIS SHIT haha..." They were really cool. He said "You have the nicest ACURA out tonight. Quote on Quote from Cop " Whats with all these Integra's racing around with there pop can's and shit." Me, "Yeah I know I smoke'em all....haha" He laughed and said be careful and to go home cause they were gonna start givin people tickets. Thank You Denver Cops... There good in my book!

How do you post vids??? I got one of me and an 06' WRX Modded....

I'm glad the police are nice up there as they're pretty much the exact opposite around here.

I do though (unless the Cobra driver was a terrible driver) have trouble believing you took the Cobra. This is just from personal experience of owning both cars. I'd like to see a video if you have one or can take one so I can see how he was shifting because if he did lose, someone deserves to be smacked for not knowing how to shift.

It's wild how the cops will treat someone just because of the car that they're driving.

You got lucky and they were some cool cops.

Tell me about it. Look at one of my past cars (sponsored at the time for the work put into it). I mean, given it was still a V6, but it was loud, yellow, tinted, and at the time a 17 year old kid driving it:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/99-yel...k-saleens.html

Now that car, screamed for attention and I got so much of it I sold the car. I hate New Jersey cops.

No offense, Chris but a properly driven Cobra would spank your ass. No question.

Is he modded at all? Even if not, the 4.6L, V8, 305hp/300tq, RWD, 5spd, can run a 13.9/101mph 1/4 mile.

Great story... i appreciate cops like this. I mean, he got his point across without making any enemies. Too many times ive seen cops over react or try to hard to be hard asses when it comes down to times like this. Granted they see and deal with alot of shit, which i appreciate, but its attitudes like this that i find that stick with us more so than not.

I swear though, it must be the car that makes the cops like this react differently. I have accidently sped past a few which eye contact was made and the simple nodding head gesture was more than enough. If i was in my integra im sure i would have been pulled over.

Anyways i cant wait for the video!

You ran into some decent Denver cops? Let's see, an area where cars get stolen alot, you must be talking about the East side! Wow, I just usually see the a-hole ones...Ones that come up on your ass real fast, flip on the berries, then swerve over and fly by you. Ones that go through red lights, sometimes in wrong lanes, and don't even turn their lights on.
When I used to work in Broomfield, I even had a motorcycle cop on the other side of the road put his finger in a gun motion at my car as I drove by! Two state troopers always used to visit a lil' lunch shop up in my work complex (this was Broomfield also). One day, I came out to leave work and one of them was parked 2 cars away from mine, away from the lunch shop. So I just leave like normal and notice by the time I get to the light exiting the complex, he slowly pulls up behind me in the turn lane. I am thinking "oh great here we go". The light turns green, I make the turn, as soon as we are through the turn he flips the lights...got a ticket for window tint. It literally felt like he had planned this scenario.
Anyways, you beat a Cobra in a drag? What were the exact parameters? THe Cobra is 300/300...Theoretically with your mods you could be at 300 crank hp, but I would think 5MT vs 5AT that 5MT weighing near the CL would win. Of course all it takes is an early shift, bad launch, etc to turn the tide quick. Half a second or so in the quarter is not a huge difference.

I think I can support that claim due to having both cars. Again, it's quite possible that you've taken your friend, but I'm sure that he is not as good a driver as a Cobra driver should be. The torque/hp along with better traction then our FWD cars should be more than enough to take us. Not by much, but then again our cars are luxury, the Cobras aren't so we always win

Any other time I would agree with you Chris cause I know you know your stuff and Ive trusted your advice still to this day that Im drivin the car. But... It is possible to beat those cobra's. We have raced 3 times and I have beat'em 2 out of 3 time's.

He has his front bumber on me in 1st and then in 2nd I have my front bumper on him and then when I hit 3rd im pulling to half car length. Ill post the video when we run again. Maybe there is a weight differance????

And he is a decent driver. He has had 2 cobras and thats all he has driven for the past 3 years. So I think he's got it down by now. But I seriously thought I was gonna get smoked also but she pulled through to a happy ending... What do you think? Could it be weight or something???

I don't know, Chris. I still think if it's driven properly you wouldn't be victorious. There's got to be a bit of driver error there somewhere. I don't doubt that you did take him cause I know that CL is pretty quick and the cars are already relatively close numbers wise but still...

hey rockstar, we need to meet up and race sometime. I've always wanted to compare my fully modded first gen to a 2nd gen. Chris (lord helmet) and I were suppose to, but he sold his car... to you I think. Send me a PM, and we can meet up sometime.

I'll have my performance transmission put in tommorow, so it'll be a good race.

yeah I am. it's been proven to work with the 4AT's, so I'm not worried by CleanCL's experience. I figure it's just an inherent design issue in the 5AT's that can't be easily fixed. There has only ever been one problem with a 4AT rebuilt by dr evil, and it was after it was involved in a car accident, so I don't know what to blame for that one.

not recently, but I have dynoed since my last mod. several times actually. It's varied between 178 whp and 195, so I really am not sure what to believe. This was on 3 different dyno's though.
