Tiburon GT

i dont know about people in other places but there have been alto of people with these pretty crappy Hyundai Tiburon GT's around here. they just opened a hyundai dealership here and they have sold alot of tiburon's and all of them seemingly wanna race. first time a sorta young guy was "test driving" a gt and pulled up next to me on the highway and sped off. so i dropped down to 3rd and easily cought up with him and slowed down. again he pulled up and left. so this time i just left him way behind.

next time i was stopped at a stop light and one pulled up. he kept looking over at me and the light changed and he sped off. the next light was about 15 yards ahead and was red so whats the point of speeding off right. so i stopped and he reved his car up. so i turned the VSA off and just floored it and was spinning. it shifted out of second and caught another wheel. we went apprximatly 60 to 70 yards and stopped at the next light. he rolled his window down and asked me what i had done to my car and i was kinda laughing at this point and said nothing. i dont think that he believed me.

im pretty tired of these little punks pulling up n the crappy tiburon's thinking that they are bad or sumthing. i mean they are light bout only have about 170 hp and around 180 torque

I thought I was going to smoke a Tibby one night and I was shocked when he was right there with me. They might be shitty build quality but they are pretty easily modded and can be pretty fast.

Industry experts would have to disagree with you. Hyundai was recently ranked higher than Honda in quality. In fact, it was rated number one in the non-luxury segment. Overall, it placed third, behind Porsche and Lexus.

Several possible reasons that you may be thinking of, none that really played a factor. I was just stating facts. I wasn't offended.

It's just funny to see Honda guys calling Hyundai names. The reality is that Hyundai is on the same path as any other major foreign automakers, including Honda. They've both gone through the same arduous process of establishing itself in the U.S. market.

Honda was once called names and wasn't given much hope of survival or prosperity here. But it survived and is thriving. So is Hyundai. Honda fans who cannot appreciate that are, at best, fair weather fans. Honda has gone through the exact same thing as Hyundai has. How hypocritical to call another company names that is going through the same process that your favorite company once did.

Bottom line is that I can appreciate all makes and models based on what they have to offer, not just based on where it originates from or what badge or flag it wears. That is why you are reading a post written by a Korean guy employed by Hyundai with a modified Acura sitting outside, who has had several different makes and models of vehicles in the past, and currently looking into the propsects of purchasing an upcoming Pontiac due to this specific vehicle's merits.

That is all. I wasn't offended, and even if I was, it was not just because I work for Hyundai or because I am Korean. If I were that thick-headed, then I wouldn't be driving an Acura or be on this board in the first place.

The new 3.5 Altima commercials boast "faster acceleration than..." and they list a couple names including the Acura TL. If that is the case, then I am guessing it would be just as fast if not a bit quicker than a CLs?
