Fram Sure Drain

Has anyone in this forum used or installed one of these Sure Drain units on a CL. Will this thing work on our car?

Tons of people on the Subaru forums swear by the Fumoto Valve and cannot live without it.

I forgot why, but I remember reading here (on ACL.com) that the Fumoto product was better then the Fram product (maybe it was price?).

I actually use a topsider (I have this Griot's model, but there are others (Pela - available at Marine supply stores) to suction out the oil) -- with Acura's easy placement of the filter, I never really need to get under the car for an oil change.

I have the FUMOTO Valve, but haven't installed it yet. I need to by another gasket before I put it on. Because of the design of the Oil Pan, they will send and extension with it. It sticks out about 3 inches or better.

is there a Fram Sure Drain unit that will fit our 3.2 engine. The reason I ask is due to the fact that on there application chart our Cl does not appear under Acura. Can someone give me the part number for the CL?

Thanks

PS How much is the Fumoto valve for the CL?

I bought two of the fumotovalves. One for my 02 TL-S and the other for my wife's 01 Odyssey.

I will be changing the oil on the Odyssey next weekend and will install the first one then.

Should make oil changing easier and cleaner.

Mobil 1 5W-30 and K&N HP1004 oil filters.

I have a topsider for several years already. It's a clean operation to suck out the oil. I am not familiar with the fomoto valve, but I think you still have to raise the car to get under it to drain the oil. Right? Not with the topsider

I have a lowered (low) TL-S and i didn't want to get the fumotovalves because it sticks out a bit and i was worried that i might break it off over a dip or speed bump... So i the fram one

Fram has no application for our car...but i the 14 mm on fits. I got it, easy to install. The fram one is cheaper then the fumoto one, i think you can get it from walmart for ~$20.

My review is...i don't really like it. Since my car is lowered, i still have to jack up my car. It creates less of a mess, but sometimes it's more of a hassle...sometime it's hard to unscrew the cap...so i just got mad and just removed it and install the stock bolt.

The valve takes forever to drain...the takes about 2-3x longer to complete drain compared to no valve. But if your car isn't lowered and you can fit under your car while doing your oil change, i think it might be worth it.
