fog grills
fog grills
So I've cut out some gutter guard to fit the fog light grills ( for my '03 CLS) and I was going to paint the grills black but I'm afraid the paint will chip and eventually come off. I was thinking about powder coating...what do you think? If I just paint them, any suggests to make the paint stay on?
I haven't done this yet, but this is how I was going to do it :
1) I sandblasted the gutter guard to get rid of the galvanized finish.
2) Coat of primer
3) 2 coats of black engine paint
4) Clear coat on top
I only got as far as sandblasting the gutter gaurd. But I think this might work.

Why invest so much money in gutter gaurd? Get a real sheet of cold rolled steel, build a new grille and have that powder coated. I just do not see the point in powder coating gutter gaurd...IMHO

Cause Grille Tech is making both diamond & race-style grills & will be out very soon.
2nd gen, I called them asking for some prices but the lady had no clue that they were making them for the 2nd gen cl. She told me, "Ya know, you might be thinking of another grill-tech" HAHAHA
