Flush?

Hey, how much would / did a transmission flush cost? Looking to see if my mechanic is ripping me off. Thanks.

There is a difference in a change and a flush. My acura service manager said they had a special machine to do the flush and it cost over $150 and a change was just over $50.00 but leaves much of the old fluid in the transmission.

ye, that's true... what i had is more of an oil change type of deal, everything that was in the torque converter is still old fluid. but i can defnitely feel a difference in performance after the change.

do 4-5 times ATF drainage, between each drive 5 mins and change all gears... That is... 3Qrts x4 is 12 Qrts or 1 case for $50!

You cannot duplicate a flush by changing the ATF many times. Their maching pumps fresh ATF in under pressure while they drive your car and change gears, this clears out any gunk and sediment that can stay in your torque converter.

IMHO the $150 for the flush is one of the best things you can do for the car. I simply couldn't believe how smoooooth the shifts were almost like a dream

Me and my friend instantly noticed how much better it was after the flush, I had a good comparison because I changed it 3 times before and it wasn't even close to that smooth.
After the flush it shifted BETTER than when it was new!!

I'm all pumped up to drive now!! I think I will...

That's fuking crazzy $150 every 15K miles.... Maybe once every 60k miles, but not every 15K miles

To my knowledge there is not flushing machine that can be connected to the CLS tranny, I could be wrong, what is the name and model of the flushing machine?

So then is it a flush or change that should be done at 30K, ssems to me a change, and then a flush at 60K.

I always wonder how Acura tries to cover up their asses and recommends to flush fluid every 15K miles.... Just like it helps to make it live longer... its rediculous...

The acura service rep brought up the flush (I wouldn't know a tranny flush from a toilet flush) and did it for free as I had earlier mentioned my concerns about the tranny problems. He said he was becoming aware the problems and wanted to make sure that his customers were satisfied. He also stated that if you had a problem after the warranty expired Acura may help. He mentioned an additional 10,000 miles but it wasn't anything concrete

So has anyone actually paid for this service? Is it worth it at 30K?

Definatly do it at 30K, and if you can financially aford I would do it every 15K miles. It should cost $40 per flush.

Yes, I know that tranny can fail even after doing 15K flushes... but this way you will have better chances getting tranny replaced free after warranty. You will say "I did flushes every 15K miles, WTF ?! "

russianDude, for $40 you're getting a fluid change; not a flush. Big difference in price and I hope effectiveness.

My dealership recommend this $40 tranny fluid change... I will ask them if they have better service that include real flush...
Still, its to expensive to spend 150$ every 15K miles... maybe once every 30-60K you should get complete flush...
