Finally got my mods on!

Dropped my car off at Pohanka Acura on Wednesday morning to have the following installed on my car:

- Tein SS Coilovers + EDFC
- SPC Camber Kit (front+rear)
- Comptech Sways
- Comptech Icebox

Couldnt wait any longer for the Stone SS Headers, will have to get them installed another time when they finally arrive

Picked it up this afternoon, looks like they did a nice job with the install. Had to deal with a 2001 Integra in the meantime, am definitely glad to have my car back!!!

I did a 2.0" front / 1.75" rear drop with the Teins..

Icebox feels nice, its a subtle increase in power, but I think the car feels faster from 2500-4500 rpms .. could just be my imagination though ... If you're looking for a howling intake like the CAIs, go with the CAIs instead ... The icebox is pretty quiet. Unless I specifically listen for it, I dont hear it at all, especially with the radio on!

Anyways, the EDFC is of course the most interesting...

Car handles really nice, only bad thing is when I was driving the car home I couldnt figure out how to turn the EDFC on, so it was set by default to the hardest (aka lowest) dampening setting!

Didn't have any big problems, but I bottomed out the right front coilover once coming down a hill and hitting a small pothole! Car handles a little too harsh with no dampening, bounces around a LOT on even slightly uneven road.. not to mention the bottoming out. Don't think I'll be running 0 dampening except on the track.

After I got the EDFC up and running, I tried running it at an 8 dampening setting (1/2 way between hard and soft), and it runs really nice. Handling is good, while the ride isn't too harsh. Would probably keep it at this setting for the most part.

Also ran the dampening at full dampening (16). At full dampening the car feels pretty much like stock... Definitely nice to be able to go back to the nice smooth ride for casual and highway driving.

Anyways, will hopefully have pics tomorrow. Car is pretty much filthy right now because of all the rain!

yeah...I tried driving around w/ the TEINs on the hardest setting (0) and it sucked. It was awesome for autocrossing, but I just forgot to change it back when I was driving home. I was bouncing all over the road.

I thought EDFC couldn't fit in the CL's hood. Obviously it can. Did you have to get any custom work done to get it in there? Is it the same application as the TL? Cuz the Tein site chart doesn't have a part number for CL's. Anyways...sounds like a phat setup man!!! Congrats.

Oh, sorry I should have made it clear, I own a TL Type-S (checkout my sig). The CL-S can do EDFC in the front but not the rear I think. The part # would be the same as the TL-S but again it wouldn't fit on one part of the car.

Acutally for the CL, you can fit the EDFC on the rear and not the front.

Sweet setup...

I wish I can install the EDFC for the cls...

$300 just for the rear seems hardly worth it...

So can you change the settings on the fly, while you are driving?

Here's pics of the ride!!!!

Pics!

I dont know if you can change the EDFC while you're driving. I don't think thats really safe to do, and I haven't tried it. I have done it while I was at a complete stop at a red light though. When you're making changes to different Memory settings that you've saved previously (you get 3 of them) you can go from full to no dampening in about 5 seconds or so, and I'd say thats a high estimate. Making changes without using the memory settings is slower just because everytime you press the EDFC to change it up or down it has to spin a little, while the memory settings just make the motor spin real quick to your desired setting.

Yeah I know! A bodykit and rims! ... I'm worried about getting a bodykit though because I have to go over 3-4 different speedbumps everyday at work, and I'm not sure if I'll scrape the bottom of the bodykit with the car already lowered so much. I know I'm fine with it lowered and no bodykit!

Might do the bodykit this summer if I can spare the cash.

you should be fine if you go over bumps one wheel at a time, right?

Hahaha ... I'm wondering that myself. I've been hawking the websites I used to find my townhouse last year to see what mine is worth roughly if I re-finance the house. On average, these homes go for about $300,000 in this area, give or take depending on features etc..

fahoumh,

At work, the areas where they have the speed bumps are there for security and setup to prevent more than 1 car from going through them, so its not easy to go over 1 wheel at a time (its almost like a 1 lane road). The speed bumps aren't really speed bumps, they're actually barriers that raise up to prevent someone from entering the premises. A little hardcore, but I work for Lockheed Martin.
