Extended warranty up soon.. what to do?
I wanted to have Acura give my car a good inspection before the extended warranty expires next month...
do i need an excuse to bring the car in? I don't think I can just ask them to give the car a good once over to make sure everything is working properly without giving them a complaint of some sort.
What could I tell them that would make them really dig in and see if everything is working properly? Any advice?
So far i've had them do the following under warranty:
Replace the seatbelt sensor
Replace a couple of motor mounts (i think there is still one old one)
Replace a different sensor which i think was part of the brake system
They took a look at the tranny and said it was fine after I complained just to have them look at it

You'd have to tell them there was a specific problem for them to take it at all. Even then, they might charge you the labor involved if they dont find anything wrong (which they probably wont if you just make something up to get them to look at the car).
I doubt they'd look over the car for free though, they'd probably charge you $100 at the least to run diagnostics. Depends on the stealership lol

hmm must be a nice dealership if they do all this for free. Even after buying 2 new acuras from my dealer i barely get anything done free. Seems like only stuff they did free was in the first year of ownership.

There is no way there going to look over it for free and I wouldnt take it to the stealership any ways I would go to a third party for piece of mind and pay to get it checked out Thats what I did with my Magnum then went to the Stealership and listed the stuff that needed to be fixed

I have a $100 deductible that I have to pay, but only if they have to do work on the car.
Usually if i bring it in and they don't find anything wrong they try to get me by recommending i change the brake fluid or power steering fluid or something like that. but i just say no and do it myself.
so i guess my question is.... what should i bring the car in for? I obviously want the complain to be something where they will run a bunch of diagnostics on it.
If they find nothing, I am off without paying. If they find something its only $100 and gets fixed.

i bought it from Acura... but they didnt push it on me. i bought my car used and went in before the factory warranty was up to buy the extended one from them.
so, any ideas on what i should complain about for a full diagnostic test?

i do have some ticking, especially before the car warms up a bit. wasn't sure if it was a problem. so thats one thing i can bring to their attention.
i also felt the car surge forward a couple of times when coming to a stop, wonder if that is the other motor mount? transmission?
