Excessive Fan runnage!

Searched and couldn't come up with anything...

Although it is Summer, my fan seems to be running nearly constantly whether driving or parked. Is the engine really that hot all the time that it needs the fan? Could this point to an underlying issue? Thinking about having this checked out.

I'm not too sure about this but maybe your thermostat is sticking and not allowing enough coolant to get through...

I'd say your low on coolant, or have air in the system.
Honda theromstats do not go bad often.

Check your coolant level. If its fine id say there may be a problem with one of the fan switches. Do you get teh fans running after teh car has been shut off as well?

Checked coolant and it was about half way down...will pick some up! No, the fans do not really run when the car is off., if so only a moment.

Not to scare you, because it's very possible your low coolant is what's causing your fan to run continuosly, but...

...Watch your coolant level closely after you top it up. It's a closed system, so it shouldn't be dropping very fast, if at all. If your coolant level drops, check for leaks under the engine, coolant hoses, etc. If it's going down and you can't VISUALLY SPOT a leak you may be leaking coolant into the engine via the head-gasket, or another gasket. This is obviously a big problem.

I had a hose spring a leak last summer causing my engine to overheat and head-gasket to go - NOT FUN and NOT CHEAP.

Hope that helps.

If you were low on coolant you would notice a spike on your water temp gauge when you aren't moving. It would move up pretty quickly.
