Electrical Lighting question
I recently replaced the crappy 12v bulbs in the "road lamps" with H11 fog lights from an Accord Coupe. My problem is that I dont know how to hook up the wiring for the lights to actually work
Can I splice the old wires from the 12v bulbs onto the wires for the new H11s so that I can get the foglights to turn on when the headlights are on and also turn off with the cars built in 'auto-off" feature?
...I really dont wanna run a switch.

I discovered I just blew the fuse and that you cannot run the headlamp with an H11 fog on the stock 20amp fuse and even a 30amp fuse still isnt enough, I hope they make 40 amp fuses in the size I need.

I have my H11's wired to my corner lights and havent blown a fuse yet. What you need is not a bigger fuse, but a relay, which is what i have. I have my fogs wired so that they turn on with the corners and the also turn off with the "auto-off" that you mentioned

if you a fuse blew there is a problem
The way I wired mine is starting with the passenger side there are 3 wires one black two red black goes to negitive the two red go together and to the power on the light.
Drivers side red power black negitive
Just as a side note if you dont attach the two red wires togther "the car doesnt like it"I still have the original 20 amp fuse BTW
Yes it runs my hids I thought I was going to have to put a relay in but nope worked fine

I would wire off your corners instead of your headlights like AB said, there's less draw there

Going to a higher rated fuse is usually not the answer. The correct fuse is usually set by the engineers because of the current draw of the circuit. The wire size is also associated with this. If you're blowing fuses it means you're drawing more current than the circuit is designed for. Installing higher fuses to allow the circuit to contain the higher current draw usually results in damaged circuit, burnt wires and possibly a fire. Wire it properly or use a relay like AB suggested. Don't risk losing your car or worse your life over a 8 dollar relay.
